I tried tenfourfox yesterday but it wouldnt install because I am on OSX 10.3.9. I have a 10.5.1 retail OSX disk but it always freezes during installation. may be dvd drive it doesnt seem to read the new disks well) I do have a Linux ubuntu disk but i read that it may be a nightmare getting that running. Maybe i will look into that again via your link above. Or try 10.5.1 upgrade via Firewire from another mac. Do you know is there anyway to run XP via mac CPU or is that not possible? (only via virtual machine i am assuming) This is my first mac so i really dont know anything about it.
I would love to have one of those things again. Well, a black top Sparks, but just for the hell of it. I think I could stomach about one per year nowadays.
I've never used Linux on a Mac so I'm not sure how much work it is to install. However, I'm reasonably certain Ubuntu isn't the best distro to use as it seems like they are strongly focused on x86 (to the exclusion of other processor architectures). It's not possible to run XP on PPC, and you don't have the resources for virtualization on a machine that old. It's really not advisable to run XP at all any more. In all honesty, while those old Macs are really nice kit and are fun to have, for turking you probably would have been better off with an x86 machine running a lightweight Linux distro. Early dual core Intel and AMD PC's are cheap and abundant, and with 2 gigs of RAM or more are still pretty usable as daily drivers. CORRECTION: I should have said Ubuntu is focused on x86 and ARM.
Youre right.... Im just holding on to my last thread of hope with this thing. After two weeks with this ppc i already know an upgrade is needed. my budet is about $3-400 for a new pc. laptop or desktop. If anyone ahs any good recommendations for a windows PC in that range it would be greatly appreciated.
Yea those days were the best when you could literally drink anything and your body processes it no prob haha.
Don't sweat it. Nobody got one so they'll get a lot of the same responses and realize their mistake. 95% of the time these go through fine. 4% get resolved after a bunch of people email them if not. 1% of the time is about the risk rate of anything bad actually happening, if that high, since it's a university study
I'm a worrywart and sweat all of the little things haha. For someone who's relatively new to turking it's really detrimental.
I didn't either. I submitted it with my worker ID and contacted him. I didn't get a response, but upon checking... it's already approved. Edit: He responded and apologized. It was an error on their part. He's approving.
Love it when the fire alarm goes off at work and you have to stand outside for an hour and it's 50 degrees and you don't have a jacket. Need to thaw out now.
