Have you played the closed beta for Black desert online? The quests in that game are interesting. There's the traditional 'kill x' but there is also a mini game with the npcs where you have to build up a rapport with them to get more quests (because who wants to give a quest to an adventuring stranger xD) Not to mention all the other stuff the game has
Nooo, I heard it was good, though! I want to give it a shot. I was meaning to check it out weeks ago but I got sidetracked. Oops. Edit: Oh, that NPC trust building thing reminds me of Project Gorgon! They're working on a system just like that - http://projectgorgon.com/ You can play that for free (it's in alpha). Pretty amusing game, actually. If you like playing as a cow or using psychotherapy to defeat mobs.
bdo launch is march 3, but it is a 30 dollar buy in xD I think it's worth it though..i did the 50 dollar tier lol
$30-50 isn't bad at all. I watched those poor people pour hundreds of dollars into ArcheAge and that game turned out to be such a hot mess. Couple of perks weren't even made available. *facepalm*
yeah i did like the 60 dollar tier for that game? I only do dailies in that game now since I have a pretty large house...until i run out of money to buy apex I'll keep doing dailies xD I won't put in any more money in that game though.. some people are speculating that BDO is going to go down like archeage...but different publisher and different game..I won't judge until it's launched and down the road and had time after hype week people are also complaining about the prices for the *cosmetic* cash shop items...though I think the pets price are reasonable (9 bucks)... I don't like that the outfits are 30~, but that's only because people who bought in the 100 dollar tier only got 25 dollars worth of in game money, and I believe that they should have enough in game money to buy at least 1 outfit lol. It's also not a pay 2 win cash shop so that's a plus. It's just a little price to some people. other than that i love bdo. I don't fee like I'm grinding due to how the action battle works (no more tab targeting), and I don't mind running from town to town (since there's no teleport to town). The node system is really interesting as well xD And the housing is Phased, which means anyone can get a house. The design system is also kind of like the sims One down side is that the dubbing is pretty bad...Tay Zonday should not have done the intro cinematic lol. but that's a minor thing for me..
They got Tay Zonday? LOL! I don't know why that makes me giggle. The graphics look really nice! Wow. I'll definitely have to check that game out. I don't mind if the cash shop is 100% cosmetic and overpriced. I never use it anyway. The way they did the ArcheAge thing, though - omg what a mess that was. I followed it from launch and I remember all the bugs and hacks and bots and cash shop scams and geez. What a waste. I never bought patron and never got a house or farm. Did a few trade runs, did some farming, lots of exploring, died out at sea a few times, lol. It was fun, but that whole labor thing killed the really interesting features for me.
sad thing is that the video doesn't really showcase the max the graphics can get to there's energy in bdo as well, but it's nowhere near as limiting as it was in Archeage (it's a little bit better now in AA, but still restricting) You regain 1 energy per 3 minutes if you are logged on in bdo, and you can increase the cap. The cap is account wide, but energy is per character, which means people would make alts to maximize energy xD
Oh there he is, LOL. He's definitely got a voice, that's for sure. Not sure it quite fits this, though. Oh thank goodness they eased up on that labor nonsense. What a pain in the butt. Black Desert sounds much more reasonable.
honestly during the cbt, every time i would need energy, I would just AFK fish (great way to get money in game) and turk/watch youtube/etc while my energy builds up oh yeah, everything has weight...even money and warehouses in each city are it's own thing. Things you have in one warehouse won't be in another warehouse, unless you transport them over :3 The character creator is so awesome as well.. sooo many customization options. Even the option of having things not mirrored, so you can add things on one side of the face and not the other. My ranger:
Ohh yeah. I've seen their character creation. It's so wild. There are a few games with some pretty good systems, but that's definitely one of the best.
Is black desert out yet? It looks cool. Anyone still working on these AI? They have two batches up atm. Also if I can run gw2 on medium settings at like 40 fps solo should I be okay? Huge battles like world bosses drop my fps to like 10 tho but I am mainly a solo player so it doesn't bother me.
the cbt was this past weekend, and launch (for those that don't have the early access preorder stuff) will be on March 3rd. It will be buy to play though. I would say the rig would be fine. I was surprised to run BDO at around 30-40 fps on medium. http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=7996&game=Black+Desert+Online would be a good source to estimate if you can run it. Just enter in your specs and it should tell you. I can't say how well it will run during things like guild vs guild stuff, but since I also run gw2 at about 30-40, and more of a solo player, killing mobs and running around was just fine for me at medium. I haven't tried any higher though.
I got AMD A8 R5 graphics and 6 RAM. So basically min or slightly above min for everything lol. I may check it out. Still having fun in GW2 though so I am in so rush to start something new.
I have 8 gb ram, my video card is an AMD R9 280, and a 7+ year old CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 965, my bottleneck) and I was able to run it just fine on medium so I think you are good with probably low-mid depending on how you tinker the settings lol and like i said in my post earlier, aside from building up my guild hall, I've done practically everything I can do in gw2 xD I only do my daily flax/malchor's leap wood and ore gathers now to build up enough materials for my guild and a second legendary i'm slowly doing BDO is such a good change of pace...pretty too
