Hi, I have joined mturk recently, and have submitted 214 HITS. But I have a few questions. 1. I got 116 HITS approved but the status says "Approved - Pending payment" and my account earnings are $4.38. How is this possible that the requester has not yet paid me but that amount is already added to my account earnings? 2. What if I do not get the payment from a particular requester? How long does it normally take? 3. I knew I could do certain hits very well, so I requested the requester for qualification. But nothing, no approvals. How do I get those qualifications? What is the eligibility for qualifications like 'Preferred worker', 'Article writer', 'qualified sentence writer', 'english resource writing' etc. These qualifications do not have a test, but when will I get approved for them? 4. I am from India and want to know if Indians really get the payment on time or they don't send the cheque at all!! I need to know this because, I am planning to work half a day on mturk. But with issues like not getting qualification approvals or not getting paid while my task is approved is something to worry about. All your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Welcome to Mturk Forum. In beginning for a day u can able to do oly 100hits after 10 days it will increase. Ur approved Hits will get paid after 10days wen u are newbee. after u completed 10days u get paid immediately when the requester approved ur hits.. Goto --->Accountsettings---> to see ur current balance amount.. 2.It depends upon the requestor most of them approve immediately, some may be 1 or 2 days 3.you have to do more Hits in those categories if u did well they well approve you. 4.no issues in cheque..u will get ur cheque within 10days. Dont worry
the first step of process is approval and the next " paid " only after the status becomes paid and only after the first 10 days of turking the money shows up in your current balance click on http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?2474-Current-Balance-Question&p=13766#post13766 to read more thank you
Thanks a ton guys! That clears all my doubts I hope I get the 'Article writer' qualification. Just wondering how I would be able to do similar tasks if I don't have the qualification. On what basis am I considered for such qualifications. Should I contact the requester asking him to check my work and then qualify me? Doesn't sound like a good idea though! Confused!
One more doubt! Hi, I also have another query. I have written a mail to mturk mentioning this, but no response from their side except for an auto-reply saying that my query will be answered. So, I thought, I would ask some of the senior members out here. I am from India, my bank account also is in India, all my PAN card, passport etc. has a permanent address of India. Last month, just for a couple of months more, I have come to Singapore with my hubby for his work on a dependent visa. Now, I don't have any account in Singapore, so, I am working as an Indian worker on mturk. Once I go back to India, by August, I can withdraw my earnings. Is this a valid situation? Or do I have to work as a Singapore worker? If so, I do not have any account in my name and do not want to get into hassles of opening one either. Please help... Hope this is not that serious an issue!
Thanks Shankar. But I seriously want to know whether I can work from Singapore or it is not allowed. Will it be a problem, I mean would they block my I'd or something like that? I think every mturk worker must be travelling to different places in a year and still be working. Right?
u shud contact amazon support i gues to know if they keep some rules and guidelines with Ip adress and locations or there is a chance of getting your account suspended !
@OP, what was the address you put in during registration? If its a Singapore address, then you are in for trouble. If it is Indian and if you have registered yourself as an Indian, you have no problem. But do note, that amazon doesn't allow you to work from other countries. As in, you can work from any part of India. But you can't do the same if you are overseas. They mandate you close your previous account and begin a new one. Since you are coming back in Aug, I guess its fine. You can continue to work as an Indian worker. This is my understanding and I might have got it wrong. You are better off contacting the support team. As for the cheque, you get the money for sure, there is no doubt. But how fast? It varies. My first cheque arrived in 15 days. The 2nd got lost. So had to wait for 6 weeks before it was reissued. It arrived within 10 days.
"Qualified Sentence Rewriter" is a closed qualification and is not presently being granted. "Article Writer" (John Leger) is presently closed and not accepting new workers. He will post a qualification HIT when he needs new writers. Preferred Worker would be granted once you have done a lot of high-quality work for that requester. You will notice that "English Resource Writing" has only 7 qualified workers - this seems to be a closed qual. This is a Crowdsource qualification, and you must start by getting their "e-commerce writing" qualification. You can take the test for this qualification at www.write.com. A number of requesters will only open up qualifications at certain times, such as when they run short on workers. Others will use actual HITs for qualification tests, and only make them available at certain times. There are a lot of qualifications listed in the qualification tab for requesters that are no longer around. The best thing to do is to ignore the qualification tab, and make your requests based on actual HITs that are posted - either HITs that grant qualifications (See Movement Group for an example), or quals that have a test.
@munawar - Thanks a lot. I have already written a mail inquiring about the location constraint to work on mturk. Just got an automated message saying that my query will be answered. Nothing yet! @sachin - Yes, I have entered Indian postal address and registered myself as Indian. I am mostly going back by August or max Sept mid. I hope, it should be fine with mturk policies because if people keep travelling overseas, they should not be chucked out of mturk just for that reason. Thanks for your help.
Hey thanks to all. I got a reply from mturk forum answering all my questions. They say I can get the payment in my Indian account only if I register as an Indian. But even if I am currently working from Singapore, I will get my payment in INR. That sounds quite okay to me. Thanks for your help....
Great news !! Thanks for ur information new2mturk. I am also in the same boat . In US working as an Indian turker.
I dont have any employment authorization document to work in US. Also registered in mturk when I was in India.
