Thought the Hocus Pocus people, if they're still here, would enjoy this: "My brother and his roommates dressed up as the witches from Hocus Pocus for their Halloween party."
Is it just me, or are there ALOT of requesters who are dropping their pay these days. I've been turking since Feb and came across 2 others today, where I clicked on the HitDB to find I did the same task months ago for more, sometimes twice the pay. Visual Recall is another that dropped from .15 just yesterday to .10 today. Their TO says the task length is the same. I'm sure there are some turkers that have been around for a year or more; so in your experience is this pay drop practice "normal", or does it seem to be on the rise more than usual?
Did anyone get information on these HITs? I think someone was emailing. I apologize if I missed the answer.
Most requesters, even many good ones, test how low they can go. It's shitty of them, but if I was a requester I'd do it too. Morons on TO 5/5ing every category because they got approved indicate you can get away with it, and then they do the work to prove it. I posted a TO review the other day from a guy saying despite a HIT paying $0.00 he "did it anyway"
That was me. No reply yet. Previous response: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.ph...eat-Tuesday!&p=1019908&viewfull=1#post1019908
mturk is a race to the bottom. There's always someone willing to undercut everyone else. Of course, that person probably does shit work. Workers lose; requesters lose.
Made $504 yesterday. Made $800+ last week. Aside from slow days here and there for the past 6 weeks, I haven't noticed it tbh. ----edit----- Been around for 2 years.
Very typical. Look at Agent Agent. It used to pay $1.00 for the very same thing in 2012 and now it is what? .12 cents? I don't pay attention anymore because I stopped doing them. When they are new, they typically pay good and then go down in price. Very few new requesters pay too low and raise their prices but majority of them go down after realizing their work will get done regardless.
