Most requesters probably think we're crazy. They probably get messages and/or comments about this kind of thing all the time. Just basing that on the number of times I've seen statements like "there are no right or wrong answers", "we're just testing to see how much you remember, you won't get rejected" etc. They probably don't realize how just a few surveys with silly memory/trivia checks, crazy consistency checks, etc. that kick you our or get you rejected can start making you paranoid. "Sorry, you agreed to the statement, disagreed with the negative of the statement, but later only somewhat agreed with the double negative..." Every time I see that emotion thing, how much do you feel sad, angry, happy, etc. and I get to things like alert, engaged and attentive my paranoia kicks in. How can I possibly click anything but the maximum possible when a requester is outright asking how attentive I am?
Speaking of paranoid, nothing like getting to the end of a long survey and being asked my age and the options are: under 18 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 or older Makes me start wondering if I missed something. Nothing on HIT page. The description line MTurk likes to hide from us? Nope, clear there. Maybe there was some fine print in the consent nobody reads: "by continuing this study, you are attesting that you have reached the age of majority but have not yet commenced your fourth decade of life." I'll assume it wasn't there. Submitting.
