TO on him is mainly about the unpaid screener, but one person said it approved within 2 hours. Hoping for a quick approval for you too!
For some reason I haven't had any popups in my phone. I don't have adblock on my phone so I dunno why I'm ok. When I go in incognito, then that's where I see the re-directs. Seems ok if you just click refresh on the forum. Clicking anywhere on the forum causes redirects but not refreshing it.
Hi guys. So I got some kind of shit news back from my MRI. I've been having an array of weird symptoms and horrible pain going on for months now. Heard back from my gp today that I have all sorts of spinal issues, apparently. I was thinking it was neurological (and it partly is due to compression) or maybe some sort of (hopefully benign) tumor, but turns out I have three herniated disks pressing on nerves and my spinal cord, two synovial cysts, and a plethora of other spinal issues largely written in lovely mixture of Greek and Latin. I was a bit flabbergasted when she asked if I wanted a referral to a neurosurgeon. I thought I was a bit young for this and I'm not quite sure what caused this. Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with this, because I'm not really sure what to do now. I'm in a shit ton of pain and my leftover Tramadol barely touches it. I think I'm getting a referral to pain management too. Do they actual prescribe painkillers there? I know every other doctor is afraid to even speak of them these days. I think surgery seems a bit severe, but I've been dealing with this a while and I'm afraid I've suffered some pretty bad nerve damage due to the prolonged compression. Oh, and to make matters worse, I might be out 5 grand for the MRI because the hospital fucked up. They wrote my number down wrong, even though I confirmed it twice and they have my records to refer to. Apparently, they called me to tell me that my insurance had to review the claim and that I'd need to reschedule because of that. So I show up at my scheduled time doped up on Lorazepam and ready for my MRI. Then they proceed to tell me all this when I can barely keep my eyes open. And I was like, a little late now, isn't it? I'm going to get my damn MRI today and you guys can figure out how to fix this. Sorry for the long story, but any advice or positive thoughts would be appreciated. Back to your regularly scheduled gifs (this one in honor of Veep's glorious return):
Casey - I don't know anything about back issues or pain medication. Sorry for all you have to go through. Hope they can fix the problem and get your back painless again like it was before. Did Atwell email you yesterday? I got invited again for Atwell today. I was glad after finding out about it in yesterday's email thinking I had no plans. Today comes and I got called in to go out so there went my "appointment". I got the email that the HIT was up "now" so I hurried and logged in on my phone but messed up on the password so I got captcha which delayed things more. Failed to catch it of course by the time I had to go through all that again. Looks like we get invited every other time.
I'm sorry!! Tramadol sucks for nerve pain, plain and simple!! My best advice is to research like crazy before you go to see a surgeon. They are surgeons so they want to operate first. Would PT help at all? I would go that route first if at all possible. Can't your GP give you any better pain meds? I have some pretty bad back issues too but I go to a physical therapist who is awesome and manages to "fix" me in pretty short order (comparatively speaking). eta: I just googled herniated discs and it seems that PT is one of the first things they recommend. Here's one article but there were several. https://www.spineuniverse.com/conditions/herniated-disc/physical-therapy-herniated-discs
Damn Casey, sorry to hear that. I'm not even going to pretend to know anything about back issues, but I guess that's better than a tumor. The last time I had surgery was on my shoulder. My surgeon gave me two months of painkillers, and sent me to 6 months of physical therapy. Good times.
Thank you, Flora! And I think we are on different schedules for the Atwell game. So did you end up catching it after all?
Thanks, Bobbie! The Tramadol is leftover from something else. My gp won't prescribe me anything, even Tramadol. Well, she won't prescribe me anything good, that is. I'm on Cymbalta and Neurontin right now and neither help at all. I was a bit weirded out that she jumped straight to surgery too. But it seems the neurosurgeon she referred me to does pain management, physical therapy, and surgery. So, I'm hoping he'll be able to give me a better idea of what to do and hopefully surgery will be a last resort type of thing.
Yeah, I think physical therapy might be good if I could get the pain somewhat under control first. I also have muscle atrophy on the right side of my body so it's pretty painful to do some things. I really need to get the nerve damage under control, so I hope I don't have to wait like a billion years to get into the neurosurgeon.
Yeah, if it's a good doctor, it will be a last resort. Back surgery these days seems to be more of a "let's try this and see if it helps" kind of thing, sometimes it's wildly successful, sometimes it does nothing. Your back muscles can offer a ton of support, PT focusing on strengthening them should be the primary focus.
Nope. Missed it due to stupid log in captchas. But then I didn't have time to do it anyway had I caught it. Next time...
Who knows. Most OCMP batches suck but sometimes there's a random one that isn't bad. Always catch all the quals you can get. You can always find out later whether the batch is worth doing or not. ABQ

So sorry to hear it, Casey. All I know about back injuries is that mine hurts when I dig holes. I hope you get some relief soon.
