Old requesters get their work all done and drop off the platform, but usually not before playing wage limbo and dropping their pay as low as they can go and still get it done. New requesters come by, see what these established ones are offering, and they start their pay there. Then they limbo it, too, even lower. Then there are the requester forums, where they give one another tips. Such as how to trick us into working for a dollar an hour in hopes of being one of the lucky few who win a really nice bonus that might be paid to one worker in ten, or in a hundred, or a thousand, or never really be paid at all. It's amazing any of us are so desperate we're still here. It literally makes more sense to work the fryer at McDonald's. If my tiny town had a McDonald's, I'd be there right now.
The only advantage is that I can turk while I work or spend time with my kids. If I get another job that would bring in more money, I am losing time elsewhere.
