In this thread share the great HIT that others may want to do also, and I'll see if I can keep this top post updated. Or if the chat window, up top, is not busy just include a link directly to the HIT there.

I've done this one before for $5, and I already got the $10 approved for this one. Include a video for a possible $10 bonus. If you can't get it, it might keep showing up if more HITs are being added or if people decide not to do it.

This is one of my favorite requesters with a new kind of HIT. This HIT type has gone from $0.25 to $0.50 now! Please give good responses though, as I'd love to see these kind of HITs continue!

    Super fast 25 cent HIT

It takes everyone to help out. Try to add ones that are at least $5/hour or about 10 cents a minute.

And remember, even if this thread does not have a new posting, it doesn't mean it isn't getting updated. :)

crashingclarion, I have to say that first one is not a good hit. anything that asks for ip address is against mturk policy. The requesters are not supposed to ask for any information from us like that. Just thought I would let you know I understand you are new and might not know that.

IP addresses are not personal information. Every time you access anything online, you have to use this information to get a response. Only having an IP address, is not sufficient to contact you/find out who you are, without the authorities help.

Basically, personal information can only asked for, if it is used to follow the law.

Please keep posting good HITs in this thread. And try to warn us if the HITs only allow 5 minutes or less for the work to be done. (Like the IP one)

Gah, I filled out the whole form before I realized that I hadn't accepted the hit. :(

But yeah, that was pretty fast.

Don't feel bad. I did an entire transcript once having forgotten to accept the HIT first.

Jordan Koene has some HITs up for $2.50, I just did one, but haven't 'heard' anything yet. Has anyone else done any?

Doing the ip ones allows them to use your ip address and send spam I did one of these before and the following day I had in my spam box the bad emails that I had supposedly sent and I never had sent to these. I don't use that account for nothing but for mturk.com. So giving out your ip address can be kind of risky. You don't know who is going to use that. Be totally prepared when giving that information out.

If he's the same Jordan I'm thinking of, my main contact with him was in suggesting he pay 1c/word for his writing HITs. He thanked me for my input and said he and his writers were satisfied with things as they are now.

They would need your e-mail address in order to send spam in your name. Are you sure you didn't give your e-mail out when doing a HIT? Most of the same ones which show your IP address also ask you to provide a valid e-mail address, which is of course against MTurk policy, and also just a bad idea.

Every website you go to has your IP address. Whenever you go to Google, Google gets your IP address. Whenever you come here, the forum software gets your IP address. Every time you load a HIT on MTurk, your IP address is recorded by Amazon -- and can be recorded by requesters as well, even if you don't accept the HIT. In and of itself, no harm can come from that. An IP address by itself doesn't tell people who you are or give away your e-mail address. It's just used to connect your computer to another computer. You would either have to give out your e-mail (remember, if you ever use Contact this Requester, you're giving out your e-mail), have your computer or e-mail account compromised, or have someone obtain your information by court order.

I think you asked me about this before and I misunderstood what you were asking, so if I confused you that time I'm sorry.

INC21 has a decent HIT available to review their informational website (similar to yellowpages). Pays $.75 for about 2 minutes of work. Haven't been paid yet, but turkopticon reviews seem good.

edit: paid within 6 hours! Great HIT and still available as of 9/1/09 @ 1:09pm.

Also, TCK Market Research Inc. offers 2 surveys for $.05 and $.25 that you can complete once a week. They both take under a minute to complete. I just completed my 2nd go around of the surveys and have been paid for all four promptly.

***The requester is making money off these HITs**

That actually took me 7 minutes. Still worth it though.

I see the $10 HIT available again(in my top post). Anyone who wants to print out 100 copies, go to a coffee shop and distribute the copies, take pictures, and post them, should do this. The worst part is the printing 100 copies, for all the ink/toner it would use. But you could print half size sheets and cut them. Or make you own needing less ink/toner. It might sound hard, but if you're going to pass by a coffee shop anyways, it's actually a bit fun. And they pay promptly.

The flyer part I don't mind so much, but having to get the name and email of the barista and take pictures of people holding the flyers, that could seem weird... and like you said when you subtract the cost of printing the flyers it probably doesn't come to very much.

Speaking of the ip addy. I wouldn't do it. I never do them. After you give them your ip address they can hack into your computer. That's all they need is an ip address. So dont do them. You have the risk of your computer being hacked.

I agree with you but anyone can get your IP address from your emails, unless you or your email provider hides the details. Some of the requesters have programmed their hits such that our IPs or at least the country is being tracked.

they can get it without asking you no matter what suger coated world one believes themselves to be a part of. its a screening process for them as some people have 3-4 accounts to abuse the system for the good hits... which amazon should be screening out cause they're creating a jungle of breached violations all around. pick the lesser of your evils.
