My Mturk account is separate from my Amazon Prime account. If I use my rewards to redeem a gift card, will I be able to use it on my Amazon Prime account for free 2-day shipping? They are 2 completely different emails.

I can answer you now, actually. :) I have two Amazon accounts, one with Amazon Prime.

So, when you say that your MTurk account is separate from your Amazon Prime account, the important thing is whether your email address for the Amazon Payments account is the same as the Amazon Prime account's email.

(oops, posted while trying to go advanced!)

If it is the same, then yes, you get the credit to the Prime account. If it is not the same, then no, you don't.

Be aware that when Amazon pays you for Turking with an Amazon "giftcard," it is not like when another person gives you a giftcard. They *immediately* credit the giftcard to the Amazon account that has the same email as your Amazon Payments account, whichever that is. No choices on your end.

I have done this before: when someone gives me a giftcard at my other Amazon account, I just take it and apply the code in my Prime account. All the time, no problems! But that's not an option here; Amazon pre-applies it for you to the account they're paying you in. They're not kidding that you can't transfer it---you can't even transfer it within your own accounts.

Bummer, separate emails. Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Just found on amazon payments the option to "Send Money" It asks for a email. Is this a way to send money to my other amazon account?

Oh, just saw your edit. Er, nope. It is actually against their rules and they can ban you from Amazon Payments for it. I mean...you can try, but getting banned from Amazon Payments means no way to get paid for Turking, which means...well, you see where I'm going!

(I thought of it too, lol.)

So it is better to put it in your bank account, then purchase Prime and apply monies that way? or use it for Prime from bank account if you already have it? Am fuzzy this morning. In Ohio so not much from Sandy but rain and wind but that is enough to be scary. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hope that verification goes by quick.

Oh, wait, I almost forgot this important detail: Prime can be officially shared! Mine isn't sharable now only because of the type of Prime I have, but regular Prime (the $79 a year, I think it is, as well as the free trial of that plan) is sharable with at least one other account. When I had regular Prime a couple of years ago, I just shared it between my Amazon accounts, and both of them could use it. But this only works for the shipping part, not the KOLL or free video or apparently some other things.

So, OP, if that's all you wanted (to get the Prime shipping benefits), then you could set up to share the Prime plan between your accounts and then request the Amazon credit after all. I found you a link on Amazon's customer help pages.

I'm a little fuzzy on what you are saying, too, but I'll give it a shot!

I'm going to guess that you mean you haven't enrolled in Prime yet, and your goal is to have your MTurk money credited to the account that you will have Prime on. And if that's what you mean, then you are in luck! You have two choices, and both of them will allow you to send your MTurk pay directly to your Prime-enabled Amazon account.

    1. Enroll in Amazon Prime from the email address that is already associated with your Amazon Payments account, then ask to be paid your MTurk monies as a giftcard into that account. When it gets there, purchase the Prime plan with that credit.
    OR
    2. Ask for your MTurk pay to be sent to your bank. When it gets there, enroll in Prime with the money. But for maximum convenience with future MTurk pay, make sure you purchase Prime on the Amazon account that is already hooked up to Amazon Payments (= has the same email).

Hope that's what you meant, but if not, post again. :) Happy to hear you are OK from Sandy!
