Yes, that's a normal thing. You can erase it when you're done if you want, but you'll end up downloading it again for more surveys lol
This is Java. Some surveys use this for participant interaction. It is harmless. Let it download and then execute. It goes away after you do the survey.
If you are using Firefox you have to get it through the add-ons menu. I had the same problem a few days ago. Hope that helps.
Hey!!! All you Lurkers, answer the poll! G's! Hey! 55 Viewing and like 10 contributing! Lurkers - at least sign up and register!!! It's FREE and quick! And for God's sake, "Please at least answer the poll!" I'm at $23.oo already today with the batch HITs from CS! But also have done some survey junkie work on the high dollar ones. It saddens me to see so many viewers and the same 10 or so people contributing! This only works if we ALL pitch in! If you need search tips - AIM, email or PM me! Let's Tame This Bitch!
$1.00 survey no TO rating https://www.mturk.com/mturk/accept?...y6cPzQM1Xg12jYBX4c=&/accept.x=30&/accept.y=10 EDIT: same requester approved me yesterday. It might be the same survey even.
I'm fairly new to mturk and this might be a dumb question, but how do you qualify for stuff like this? I clicked on request qualification but I've never heard back from any of the people that I've done this for.
These particular ones have qualification hits. They show up now and again. (Today was financial) In addition, you need to have a certain # of HITs (1,000 i think)
CS will put a usually $0.50 qualifying HIT out there that you can only do one of. If you do well - you get the qualification. If you don't you get paid but don't hear back on the qualification. Best bet is to search the HIT page on AMT for HITs that are $0.50 and put CrowdSource in the search field.
.20 survey, takes less than a minute and is fun. Good TO, too. (fixed link!) https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2QPDNVP3TVOKZDHBUSP7UEO7O5V037 OMG, I feel your pain. Then again, still not at 1K, so I guess it wouldn't have done me any good. But my goal is to be there by this weekend!
Don't know if this was already posted or not. Will update on time to complete. Requestor: Mark Brant Type: 2012 Presidential Election Survey .50 https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2FH56XBAT2D55NHTL7UQ6JGAU2P04Q Edit: Took 7 Minutes, not quite .10 a minute but close. Also the potential to do three more surveys for them.
Sophie Chaxel: Judgment and Decision Making, .50 https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2KGW3K4F0OHO2JL5KGBOAL92QIG01O Says it takes 10 minutes...took me just over 2 minutes, and I was a little distracted.
Just wanted to let you guys know I really appreciate all the great HIT links! Very helpful, especially for a mturk noob. Quick question: How many of you out there do audio/video transcription? I can type reasonably fast, but my first 5 minute clip took me about an hour (missed some of the stylesheet stuff so I had to redo some work). I imagine I'll get better over time, but just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. Is it worth it?Thanks in advance!
I do enjoy transcription because I enjoy doping it... LOL As far as per-minute profitability, it just hasn't been there for me. But the more I do the better I get. Check out Casting Words and SpeechInk. Those are my two favorites but have completely different guidelines. Redwood is GREAT too for getting you numbers up and practicing. For longer transcription tasks check out Express Scribe. It's free, just Google the name. I usually do them on weekends when I'm board and nothing else better is coming up.
