I thought it was a joke at first. Then I noticed I was watching a video straight from Nintendo's YouTube channel.

I guess it's good for kids who want to play 3DS systems but are "too young" for the 3D. Either way, how the heck do they call that a handheld?!

I think it's a good idea, honestly. The 3DS has always had warnings for children under 7, and I've seen so many kids who own 3DSes or original DSes with broken hinges. The 2DS has neither of those issues, and it comes at a way more affordable price. It's the perfect way to convince parents to buy it for their younger children, and just in time for the new Pokemon game to come out. There's a reason this doesn't appeal to older people, and it's important to note that the original model and the XL still exist for a reason. It's just that Nintendo is making a device to expand their market. I don't know about you guys, but I started playing Nintendo games at a very young age and I've been hooked on video games ever since. If the 2DS can help Nintendo snag a few lifelong customers that the 3DS couldn't, then it's a great business decision on their part. We're just not the target demographic.

Had to return it because I couldn't hear the first voice, and it wouldn't let me replay it. Awesome.

I'm not surprised. In England strings of lights (like Christmas tree lights) are called fairy lights.
