Guuurrrrllll there needs to be a horrible mother in law club started up. Did they try to get her help too but she refused? I was surprised they didn't try to force her into rehab too. It's going to be harder on him with her around if she likes to keep him sick for her own benefit.
They offered her help and gave her a ton of info on where she could get help, but she says she only has a $20/day habit and hers isn't a problem. Mind you, she only does $20/a day if that's all she has, and has had this habit for nearly 30 years. His aunt (who was not on the show) is 2 months clean. She knew that he would not be able to be around him if she was still using when he got back, so she called me right before I went to CA and asked me to tell him that he wasn't doing it alone. His aunt called me the other day and told me that Dot asked how she did it and can watch her smoke it and not want to do it too. She told her that she did want it, but she would rather have Rob in her life. Dot's response was to continue to smoke it in front of her. After his second therapy session, the therapist called me and told me she couldn't disclose what was discussed in therapy, but she felt she had a moral and professional obligation to ask me to keep the children away from their grandmother. That will not be an issue and Rob called me last night and told me that he knew his mom was sick and in the hospital. He said not to bother calling him if she dies, because he wouldn't attend her funeral anyway. He wants nothing more to do with her.

That is supremely fucked up, but it sounds like he solidly knows what it takes to keep himself clean and mentally healthy. Good for him.
I returned it cause I don't work for 3 cents and writing, but I wish her well. Not many people liked her. I did. She stuck to her guns when the mob mentality tried to run her over.
Mills should have slapped the adult qual on her HIT so she herself couldn't even accept it. Just for the irony.
Ugh, my thoughts on such a "mother" are NSFW, and I haven't even seen the episode yet. At least he sees how screwed up she is so maybe he can get to a healthy enough point to never, ever go back to how things were. Glad things are looking up for you guys.
I hope so. I am cautiously optimistic. He misses me and the kids and wants to be home, but knows he is not ready, so instead of leaving treatment when in patient said to go, he checked himself into Intensive Outpatient at a sober living facility in California. He recently caught someone doing drugs in the facility and turned them in, which led to a job offer, which he accepted. I was shocked that he turned the person in, and he told me that anyone in the facility that was using was a threat to his recovery. He's gained 71 pounds and seems happy. The facility was going to send him home after the job offer so that he could "recharge his homesick batteries" and then come back after a week and he was going to do it, but the airing of the show (which he did not watch) caused us both to get a TON of facebook messages and friend requests from all over the country and it freaked him out, so he is putting even the visit on hold. But I'm under no delusions and understand he has a long road ahead of him, so I am not doing cartwheels down the street yet. But I am going to be taking some classes to become a counselor for the families of addicts. My life is very different now, and I look different (I can't believe how bad I looked on that, ugh!) and feel different and hope that my doing these things will not only help others, but will also help him to stay on track. We will see.
