I wish I could erase 4, 5, and 6 from the franchise.

 

It's called taste.

I know it's not the popular opinion around the world, but it's how I feel.

 

Only thing I like about 5 is they made Jill a badass.

I always find it interesting to see other peoples favorites, the fan base of RE is all over the place.

 

I'm more on the survivor horror side of the series but a lot of the newer fans really love the action stuff.

 

I have a mixed history. Played the first game on PS1 but I was a young boy at the time and had no idea what I was doing.

Then years later RE4 came out and my friend let me borrow it and I fell in love. We both played through the series(0, REmake, 2, and 3) on gamecube after that.

RE5 was the first game that I bought when it came out, and it was amazing. Played split screen first, then online co-op. Easily put in 100's of hours getting unlimited ammo on every gun. Never used the dupe tricks, just grinded it out. Then the absolutely amazing DLC came out and only cemented the games greatness. Mercs Reunion is the GOAT mercs experience still.

Then RE6, which is a piece of shit game that somehow a small group of people still think is actually a masterpiece. I can't wrap my head around that one at all. I've heard many times "oh you played it wrong, blah blah." I went in depth on it, learned all the tricks that they for some reason never tell you about, and it didn't make the game any better. Maybe I had a little more fun in mercenaries, but the campaign will always be a clusterfuck.

After that I bought Revelations HD, never had a 3DS. It felt like a portable game but it was at least enjoyable compared to 6.

Revelations 2 brought me right back in. It's a great game. Shooting feels good, light puzzle elements and exploration to break things up. All around solid.

Somewhere in there I played the wii light gun games, they were cool.

And also Raccoon City, which was dog shit but I could at least bullshit around with 3 friends to make it tolerable.

 

I played a little of the Resident Evil when they were in Africa...don't know which one that was. Anywayz, here's a HIT.

When I was a child I was actually terrified of the original games and didn't even play through them until I was in my teens. Kind of glad I waited it out though because it made me appreciate the series more.

I think if they go in the direction of rev 2 for the next main series game it will be a solid middle ground for the survival horror people and the action ones. At least we can agree that 6 is by far the worst game they have put out for the main series.
