For all you lurkers and new turkers, just a little bit of advice.

    1. Batches are great if you can find one that is worth your while.
    2. Surveys are great when starting out because you can usually get more than minimum wage an hour if the time is posted.
    3. A lot of surveys have extra long time limits so you can accept several going and complete them all within the time period. Great surveys go great.
    4. Get your numbers up while working on surveys and batches. There are many requesters that have automatic approvals, but take your time with them and do great work. They will be extremely helpful in getting your numbers up.
    5. Set up scripts where you can find on this forum so that you know when they pop up.
    6. Here are some great numbers building requesters if you are new and starting out and are lurking. If you are lurking, please join. We help each other out.
    7. Here are some requesters to get your numbers up:

    PeteE
    Venue Quality
    Zing
    San Mateo
    Joel Lehman
    Homezoo
    Gogo
    ProBoards
    TaskRabbit
    Jon Brelig
    earl
    Agent Agent
    PickFu
    Redwood
    SurveyComet
    David Mozealous

Make sure you get the Adult qualification qual that you can find under qualifications.

Good Luck and hope this helps!

How do you even search by the requesters name?

I found out by now I much rather do surveys than most things. When ever I start to do tasks I will do like 5 and then lose interest. I got to work on that if I want any money.

I'm pretty new myself, but I assume what you're talking about simply involves typing in the person's name/company in the search bar at the top of the Mechanical Turk page. If they have any open HITs, you'll see them in the search; otherwise, you'll be told, "Your search did not match any HITs."

There are a ton of scripts which will let you know when a requester just posted and also scripts that you show your pending earnings and hits you have already done. It all depends of if you are using Chrome or Firefox.

Took me eight minutes going slow. No problems.

    Lastly--

If you miss Yannick TRESSAN (I sure do!), CrowdSource is muscling into his turf. It helps a little if you read French, but so long as you are used to HITs like this from CS, you don't need to know any at all. They cut me off after two, but perhaps there will be more in the future.

I really need to figure out how to use those. I'm glad that Turkopticon is just a browser add-on. I started out using Firefox since Chrome is my main browser (I didn't want a bunch of add-ons/scripts cluttering Chrome), but two days ago I did surveys that didn't work in Firefox and wasted a lot of my time without anything to show for it. Chrome it is. Is Tampermonkey generally the most commonly used script program around here, or are there other suggestions? I have a lot to learn about scripts. I've started to browse (http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?4501-All-The-Scripts-You-Need-to-Get-Started!) a little bit.

Accidentally submitted a HIT after I did the survey but forgot to put the code in....

I messaged the requester telling them to disregard the HIT and explained what happened.

Am I likely to be penalized?

This has happened a couple of times for myself. I always emailed the requester with my worker ID and the code. There was never a problem and they always paid.

That Fashion Hoop survey was the easiest 1.25 I've had in a few days. Other than Monday, it's been a rough week for me.

I'm getting these done fairly quickly depending on how mangled the sentence is.

Some of those sentences are VERY strange. I had a hard time figuring out what one of them even meant.

I returned the first only only one I attempted because I felt like I misunderstood the directions, and the sentence made no sense at all...
