Did that not take for freaking ever? I got mine a week ago and then had to update to the latest Win 8 before I could go to 8.1 and the HP updates were brutal. I still cant get the MTurk Database to work on it.
I don't get it, why is everyone so jealous of leaving $1,000 sitting around on mturk? I wonder how many people here would rage if they knew my grandparents look at their SS checks like it's junk mail.

I think that qualtrics and survey monkey have preset ones you can use. Or basically premade surveys that you can tweak very slightly. I just don't get how they can get valid information using them. 300 times a week you get that scale with the words "interested""Distressed"Alert"Scared"Proud" etc...I don't get how that helps their study.

Most surveys contain the exact same questions anyways. Personally I dont see how what political party your from can dictate your answers THAT much. I mean seriously, dont most people have the same opinions on most things whether they are democratic or republican? (well besides the issues like gun control, abortion, and the like), but on general terms, Id think everyone has basically the same views on the little things.
I don't think the panoply of standard survey questions is from Qualtrics. I think they come out of a book somewhere. Too bad Karamazov went to sleep already. He probably knows which book. There are a zillion such tests, more or less standardized. That's why they don't change the wording; they can't. Whatever they do has to be correlated with whatever other researchers' data they compare it to, and even a subtle change in wording would mess up the answers for comparison.
