B4 the fun begins...no one really knows why workers get Masters. The only thing that seems to be consistent is that workers need to have over 5000 hits. Everything else seems to be up for grabs.
Yeah no one actually knows what it takes to get masters. Just a bunch of people acting like the know something when they don't.
They discriminate against old people, too. Heaven help you if you're over 65. Old people should automatically get Masters. We should be rewarded for being able to simply do hits.

Yeah Right..I was logged in and still could not access a lot of stuff. Go Figure. I did a little clixsense and a few "BUX" site's before I found Mturk. It did not seem even remotely worth my time. Since I am already in their system I will check out the new "platform". If it is more of the same I will just let my account rust and take up a tiny bit of space there....
I certainly notice the masters hits are on average a little better paying so it would be nice to have. But I guess I won't get any hopes up any time soon.
I feel the need to say again that I started in 2008. I just got masters this year. It doesn't happen quickly for everyone. :\
Everyone is keyed in on what they have to do to get Masters. It rarely occurs to turkers that it's not about them, their stats, their quals, or their bear/non-bear status. Amazon gets 10% on all normal HITs. That jumps to 30% on Masters HITS. So think about it from their perspective. If you're Amazon, how do you run it? You've got this exclusive qual called masters and you have to sell it to requesters so they'll pay the 30% premium for it. So you make it rare. As long as Masters HITs are getting done on time, you stop giving it out at all. When Masters HITs start slowing down, you assume you need more Masters. Then you check your books, pick a thousand or so turkers who are doing the most, and hand out the qual. Then shut it down til things get slow again. Rinse. Repeat. So you aren't so much trying to do a certain thing or have a certain stat. Just be active, in the right place, at the right time, and Master ye shall be.

Yea every time I tell my wife about getting a great hit she tells me to bite her arse. She has over 60k approved and no masters.
Seems ProductRnR is done for the night, I guess I am too. Made it to $23.32 today with those + crowdsource refresh.
It really depends. Since amazon changed the default to masters for new hits posted you will occasionally get the easy high paying hits from new inexperienced requesters but you also end up playing Russian Roulette with some of the new ones. There are as many low paying crappy requester masters hits as there are good ones. The key is to be discerning and find the good requesters and keep track of there posts using PM or C4C. I think having certain quals are more important that having masters.
