So glad my pup didn't freak out. She gave a few warning barks and growled for a little while, but once she realized it wasn't gonna hurt me she settled down and has been napping all night. I'm very lucky.

Thanks everyone. So far our alphas (the oldest male and female) are holding down the fort well and trying to keep everyone else calm. We have 11 that range from almost 12 years to 4 months, so yah....... We haven't been in this house a year yet and people have been setting off those huge illegal ones for a week now. We live across from some giant power lines so that right there shows what intelligent people live near me. Besides a few growls and obvious looks of everyone on edge, I think we'll survive the night.

...................and now the gunshots start.

 

These fireworks scare me. I need someone to cuddle with.
