I want to take the qualification test for Casting words but when I click on it, it tells me I already took the test and can not retake it. The first time I clicked on "take the test" the page didn't load, I just got some words, no link, no audio. It said something about a pod cast. Since then the only message I get is that I already took the test and can't retake it. So who do I need to contact to see if they will reset it so I can actually take the test?
You can see the details on the Qualifications tab; search for CastingWords. Many of CastingWords qualifications explicitly state: “This Qualification cannot be retaken once requested.” The only people it makes sense to contact would be CastingWords themselves, and you can contact them from the contact link on any of their 700+ HITs.
Sure! Just to be kind to them, I don't want to post it, but they have it on their public site for Turkers, which is here: http://turkers.castingwords.com It's almost at the bottom, but it's in the central part of the page, not in the footer or small print or whatever.
Hi Neona, Once you take the test, they should automatically give you a qual score that allows you to do some of their transcriptions to raise your score. In addition to the link naturegirl posted, you can ask questions about specific HITs at their support site (it's not just for their customers): http://support.castingwords.com You'll need to make a separate support account in addition to whatever account you make at turkers.castingwords.com

That is actually a great thing to point out, vordai, because I remember when I was new, I could not figure out why they were welcoming me twice for my registration (after I registered for one site, they went ahead and made me one for the other, a week later). I wrote them to ask whether my password would be changing every week as a regular thing, so I'd know to look for it. They were nice writing back to explain.
I emailed them and they signed me up for their site and sent me my login/pw info. But that didn't exactly address the problem I am having - I want to take their test! I sent another email explaining as grateful as I am for their site, I still need to know how to go about getting a chance to take their test since it is saying I already took it on here.
Did you try logging in? There is no test, is what we're trying to tell you. Email for the qual and get it. They base whether you can continue on how your first few transcripts are. When you log in to the turkers.castingwords.com site, you should see a link to your profile on the upper left of the screen. The bottom section of that page is labeled "MTurk Qualifications" and you should have a "PPT" under there of 80, at least. That will allow you to work on all their Basic audio. The other way to check is just to see whether there are any HITs in MTurk for CastingWords that show with a blue background, not a gray. If yes, that confirms you're already eligible! Now, if there are zero HITs from CastingWords that have a blue background, then you do still have a problem. In that case, post again and we'll see!
if there is no test why can't I get on the hits here? They keep saying I dont qualify and I can't take the test again.
OK, so there are no HITs at all showing that you qualify for? Did you search for CastingWords HITs on MTurk with the box checked to show only the ones you do qualify for? There are many HITs that are not available at CW when your PPT is only 80, so you could see a whole screen full of unavailable ones. But you should be able to see some. Please let us know if there are none when you search with that box checked.

Great! You have the qual. That is the highest you can get without doing any of their work. Huh, you might be right. I looked through a few of the Basic that's up and I'm seeing a consistent min qual of 85. Can you please do a search with that box ticked, to see whether MTurk shows any CastingWords HIT at all that you do qualify for? Now I really want to know what's up.
