This isn't about a hit that is currently posted, but xlab research has been dropping batches recently that require writing, but pay well. I have a story. They did a small, I assume qual batch for 50 cents that approved in one day. The others, the ones I know (started at 70 cents, went up to .77) approved in two. I can do them well in a minute or two and it has a two hour timer. Fine and fair. I had an unexpected expense this past week and wanted to make money via mturk to avoid dipping into savings. I had a hard direct goal and I reached out to the requester about their approval time, as I needed things to be approved on Thursday and hit my account on Friday. And their response was "If you need me to change it, let me know!" I wasn't asking them to change anything, I was merely asking so I could reconcile what I would need to do in working on mturk and figuring out if the work I had already submitted with them would approve in time. Two days approval is awesome, I was not complaining. It was the most lovely exchange. They dropped a new batch and switched it, retroactively and forward, to one day approval because I needed to meet my goal by Thursday. It applies to all. Goal was met, savings saved. That's incredible and I am thankful and these are the requesters we should be grateful for. One day can make or break a worker, for whatever reason. And you better know I put all my energy and focus on those HITs yesterday and my work was good. I also made $130ish, with breaks...cooking, nails, watching a show, etc. (ETA: My work is always good, 42 rejections since I don't even even remember when, and half of those are from my first week. I take things seriously).
