Hey I've recently started using mturk for surveys with the goal of crowdsourcing a startup. It may be that I don't have the patience but I've found I keep sweetening the pot / removing restrictions to get turkers to go through my survey. Generally speaking how long would it take to start getting replies to a survey restricted to the US with a payout of $0.08? The survey in question is this https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchb...ps&searchWords=your+past/current+relationship ... which I wish had my company name attached not my personal name Anyways this isn't a solicitation for people to do my HIT so much as am I doing this wrong but if you do I'd appreciate any feedback you may have.
Your survey says it takes 15 minutes, so you are offering the equivalent of $0.32 cents per hour. You are not going to get many responses until your compensation reaches about $1.50. For $0.08, the survey should take less than a minute.
Sweeten? How so? Are you funding this yourself? I see...8 cents...OK....8 cents...single hit...one time...ok...um....OMG! 15 minutes?!?
Thanks for the feedback. Based on responses the survey has received so far average time is 3 minutes 57 seconds so compensation at that response time somewhere around $0.35 - $0.40 would be more in line with the turk average?
at least. don't forget you're also competing against a ton of other stuff, but if you put it up at 40 or 50 cents and put that it's under 5 minutes on it, it'll go. if it's moving slow you can always post it into our greatest hits thread.
