LOLOLOLOLOL hey anyone with a fake account please send me your worker ID and I'll make sure you never get kicked off lmao
I'm interested! How much do you charge for this protection? Will there be any repercussions if I say no?
I'm somewhat hoping this will happen as well; I'm hoping it will, but I'm not too optimistic. If requesters don't have a large pool of people ready and willing to do any kind of work for a ridiculously small amount of money, maybe they'll have to raise the payment. And failing that, with a smaller pool of workers at least there would be more of the crappy paying jobs for those of us left... I know that can sound heartless, and I'm sorry if the recent changes negatively effect legit non-US workers - I know that many of them rely heavily on mTurk earnings. I can sympathize, because, unfortunately, so do I.
All these bogus workers make it harder for people like me from the UK These policy changes are slowly killing me.. I thought we were menna be the 51st state Someone needs to tell that to Amazon and let us in on the best USA jobs
You've missed my point about Paypal vs MTurk. Paypal VERIFIES accounts worldwide, requiring ID, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, proof of domicile from all countries...Why doesn't Mturk? It would help stop people trying to scam the system, creating false accounts etc etc ad nauseum. And while we're at it, Mturk "says" it can't actually pay "real money" to people outside the US and India because it's "too complicated" to set up. Nonsense. If paypal can do it, Mturk can do it. Especially because Mturk is the holding area for requesters' funds. Mturk was created as a worldwide clearinghouse for human itelligence tasks. It was conceived to use the power of the international internet community. But because it refuses to set up quality controls, mediation, serious verification and proper types of payment, it has slowly become a two-tiered little society - the US and then the rest of the world... Quite pathetic, in fact.
Actually, I didn't miss your point. How is it pathetic? Amazon is an AMERICAN company, so what is wrong with them trying to keep the cash flow within their own country? I'm not sure if that's their reasoning or not for only doing bank transfers within the US, but it very well could be, and if it is then I applaud them. I think the fact that they offer Amazon gift cards as payment to other countries solidifies this point... so they can work and earn money through mTurk, but that money is going to come right back to Amazon.
AMT != Amazon Payments Amazon Payments is to AMT as is PayPal to eBay. I know you know the difference, but you are using the names as if they were interchangable. I have read of Canadians opening accounts with RBC Bank and getting their money deposited that way (Amazon Payments ---> US branch of RBC ---> Canadian branch of RBC). IMO: If Amazon is going to let people outside the USA & India microtask on their platform, they should offer ways to get hard currency. Alternatively, if Amazon has no intention of ever letting anyone but US & Indian workers withdraw hard currency, then they should also not let those other workers work on the platform. But not this mish-mash that exists now, where you work and get paid only in company scrip.
Gee... can you think of any reason why the OP has only 2 post now and has not responded to this thread since the beginning? How many fake accounts did you have OP? Hopefully you lost them all! But that is just my opinion.
