I can't believe that a requester would do that so they don't have to pay. They need good data, it's that simple. A more true statement is that too many turkers try to get as much money as they can for the least amount of work. Those hits were crazy simple. There was nothing tricky about them.
I got a rejection with same message too!! I did 4 and he rejected one. As soon as I submitted it, I didn't get the invite on the code page so I knew I must have screwed up. I emailed him b/c I thought I forgot to answer the practice video question about which surgeon was right. He told me I picked the wrong surgeon. So does he change the practice video on every hit? I didn't watch the video everytime b/c I thought it was the same one and I just picked the same answer every time and I followed the directions on the ac as well. The only thing I can figure out is the answer for the practice question as to which surgeon was better changes on every hit.
All of my HITs were approved, including one where I erroneously judged the quality of the QA video as opposed to the actual video. I contacted the requester after I realized my mistake and he's been very communicative with me, offering to allow me to re-take the task with the error. Without getting into specifics, one of the QA checks wasn't the same every time you did the task... is it possible that maybe that's where the problem occurred that caused the rejection?
Exactly and I followed the directions exactly as I do all HIT's, looks like I'm not the only one with this issue.
Yes it changed each task which video was the correct one. Did you try to contact him? He's very communicative and willing to work with people.
Yea, he emailed me before he rejected it saying that he would take a look and see if I forgot to answer it and good luck going forward. Then when he rejected it, he left that comment above on the dashboard page so I emailed him again and he said I picked the wrong surgeon and he was sorry he had to reject me. Definitely didn't offer to let me retake it again! and I was very nice to him the whole time.
Yeah I feel like if I could see the video he rejected me on I would argue my case. I watched the practice video every time and it seemed fairly easy to pick the right surgeon so I have serious doubts that I got it wrong. Perhaps I accidentally moused over or clicked into the next set of questions that we were supposed to leave blank. After reading everyone else's situation I am not going to bother about trying to contact him. He approved my other 8 HITs for him guess I will take it and avoid him in the future.
I didn't know the training video was going to change every time, did it say that? I figured it was like some hits where you answer it once and usually they end up saying if you don't have to answer it every time or either change the hit where the training part doesn't come up every time. Do you know what I'm talking about? It wasn't the ac I missed, it was the training video part.
No it didn't say that but I made sure to watch at least the first bit of it each time for the first few hits I did so I noticed right away it wasn't the same every time. I understand that it could be an honest mistake but you really can't assume anything with hits, some batches will have a question that has the same answer every time and some will switch it up. I shot him a message to tell him about the forum, maybe he will show up and clarify things for everyone.

I'm trying to figure out why some of you who admitted to not watching the practice video after the first Hit are complaining? You cheated, you tried to cut corners and it burned you. Deal with it. I don't get the way some of you handle this, contacting the requester and trying to get your rejection overturned because you didn't do the work. That's crazy. Maybe the lesson learned should be to always read the instructions, don't assume one Hit is like the next, and cutting corners doesn't always pay out in the end. There were a lot of us who worked on 20+ Hits and didn't get a single rejection. Like wahoo7781 said, it was extremely easy to tell right away which was the faster, smoother surgeon in the practice video.
I agree with you. It makes me crazy that people feel entitled to the pay when they aren't willing to put in the work. Anyone with half a brain should know that if a hit is paying $.50 it should take more than 20 seconds to do it.
I'm the one that started this thread and I DID watch the entire video and read everything and I still got rejected, I contacted him because I take this seriously but he has not responded.
Hey now, I fully accept my rejections with no blame placed on requester at all! I derped on the attention to detail question. Yay me!
I never asked him to reverse my rejection, I just asked him what I did wrong. I admit I didn't watch the practice video the last time after it was the same the other 3 times. I still watched the video that we were supposed to be grading. So don't come in here all huffy telling me I shouldn't cheat. I don't cheat. I don't even use the scripts people have been using to do the productrnr's faster. I'm not doing anymore of his hits so that leaves more for you Bertha.
