Hello guys, First of all, if you can help in anyway please do help because I had $300 in my account, please note that I am not USA based worker, I am an Indian worker turking since 2010. Today morning when I logged in to my Mturk account, suddenly, I saw message as below: "Your request was not completed successfully. This account has been suspended by the Amazon Mechanical Turk team." I immediately logged in to the email account I used to signup with Mturk and there was no mail stating my account suspension, I checked if I can withdraw money, but no, they've disabled that option too. I checked if I can transfer my money to GiftCard balance, yes, I was able to transfer money to GiftCard balance, I transferred $10 and it was successfully transferred. Now, my question is : did Mturk put suspension in error? Coz, I didn't receive mail and I am still able to transfer my money to GC balance, so, is it possible? I already contacted them to clarify on this issue. If I don't get reinstated, will I get my money in Indian rupees? Many of you might have suffered from Suspension, please guide me. Sorry to hear about your suspension and may I know why you got suspended? Do you get any blocking from the requester or does your Account approval rating has come down? I wish you have to come out from this issue and work again and by this time you would receive mail from the support center about their error.
No, I've not received any blocks from Requester nor my ratings came down. I mailed them and I received following reply from them: Hello Keval, I have checked your account and confirmed that the account was suspended on 04/24/2013. Your case has been forwarded to our suspension research team to review the suspension decision. We will follow up with you only in the event that your suspension is reversed and your Amazon Mechanical Turk account is reopened. If you do not hear back from us, this will indicate that the suspension decision is final. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem? Yesterday, I was able to transfer my balance into Gift Certificate balance, but today wherever I click, I just receive Suspended notification. Yesterday, I was able to click on My Account and then Account Settings etc, but nothing today.
If the suspension team reviews your account and ur account is found free of errands, I think they might remove the ban
Really I am scared now, you haven't got any blocking nor decrease in your scoring but your account has been suspended for no valid reason. What can we do if it happens to many of us?(Indians). Really critical and much worrying loosing our valuable hard earned money and time. I wish the ban should be reversed soon and it would be a happy news for us. Please update about this issue when you receive reply from amazon.

I heard same kind of suspension issue from another turker who s very close to me, neither got blocks nor any low ratings, these scenarios let me scare too. Is your account created by your self or you changed some others account name and address. May be in this scenario(Name changing) many got their account suspended recently. Just for let me settled, i request all(Indian Turkers) to provide your account created Date.(Since they working on Mturk). Mine is - 1. Created on December, 2011 - No issues till now.
Mine is: January, 2012 - (Luckily! or Fortunately!) no issues till now. But I am scared of hearing these suspension issues. Because I am badly depend on my amzon earnings now. I have worked for any requesters when I am not aware of Turk Opticon and got many rejections, two blocks one from ProductRnR and another from elki media. Fortunately ProductRnR removed my block and elki media refuse to take back the block on me. But, now I am very careful choosing requesters to work with. But, I find not more hits for Indians (it's our fate) now. Can you suggest any hits to work with or suggest any qualification test of requesters for Indians. My scoring is : HITs Submitted 87600 — ... Approved 87376 99.8% ... Rejected 205 0.2% ... Pending 19 — Thank you.
Good to see no issues from your side with account till now, hope this continue for ever with all. You have good stats, for somewhat it s YES for Indians that they have very less chances to grab more hits, but if you stay for regular and had good rapo with requesters you may have chance to earn some more dollars compared to other indian turkers. Day by day it's really becoming very hard to indian turkers to earn good amount in mturk as most hits reserved to Masters or US turkers. I tried contact MTurk team about "Masters only reserve to US", same ans every time that Masters will be awarded in consistent performance, I dont think so any Indian Turkers would be awarded with Masters even if he done some lakhs of hits. Mturkforum, Really i got many from this forum, Thanks a lot. About Req, Recently i lose Medcrowd,MedInfo Qual, earlier i used to earn lot from him. But still i have good req's in my pocket which makes me busy all d time. I really feel good if all my fellow indian turkers also earn good amount from mturk. hello keval, sad to hear about the suspension. I guess you should not have kept a large amount with mturk. As you're turking since 2010, you might be knowing about suspensions. So its always better safe than sorry afterwards. You should have withdrawn that amount earlier. Well, no one here can help you much apart from making you feel good. It is amazon who has the authority. So, rely on your luck and do not expect much from them. One more thing, I guess you've had some blocks earlier. Otherwise, they will never suspend account.
U dont worry about u r money because they will send money through check after suspension.My friend account suspended because of rejections bfr suspension she have 100$ in account she got in one month or 15days i not remember exactly but she got money in indian rupees.
I have heard about many people stating that when they have kept a large sum in there account, they have gotten suspended for no reason. Kind of shady, but I have read numerous instances about it.
So in the event of a suspension, is the suspension forever, or will it end at some point? I haven't been suspended, but I'm still curious.
Very sad to know that your account is suspended. Normally turkers won't keep too much money in their account. I usually withdraw, vn it is 80 dollars in the account. No one really know what happens next in Mturk. I know an Indian turker whose account suspended without any blocks. Some thing is there behind these blocks. Only Mturk knows the reason.
My account was suspended on the 18th of this month and have heard once from them, but nothing else. A couple of days beforehand, I had withdrawn $100 and it makes me wonder if that's why my account was suspended. Anyways, I hope you get your account back soon.
I don't know why they suspend current workers. As far as taking new international workers, I suspect that it's just more trouble for them as far as payments go. Taxes and transfers to foreign banks are two things I can think of. If I'm not mistaken, I think Indians are paid by check. Amazon would probably rather not do the whole check thing.

If you changed your name legally and wish to contest this suspension, you will need to provide legal documentation such as a marriage certificate or court order displaying your new name as reflected on your Mechanical Turk Account. Please note, your proof of identification (PAN, EPIC, passport, etc) will not be sufficient. We need documentation that shows the name change itself. Amazon Mechanical Turk I've sent them mail saying that was my father's account, and in order to clear up any doubts regarding any possible frauds you can change back its name to my father's account. But, I've still not received single reply from them, I mailed them on Saturday, but still no response yet. I've changed that account name 2 years back and it's affecting my account now...how strange is that? And, are you guys sure that I am gonna receive my money? Why didn't you just create an account under your name instead of changing your father's account? It's his account. You weren't supposed to be using it. If you had created your own account, this wouldn't have been a problem.
