Spin off from spam girl, eh? Your new user name? BTW, any chance of changing user names? I want to change mine.
Qualifiers will not be accepted by qualification request. Instead, you must complete a hit that is available to all mturkers. Details will be posted here. If you have questions Riaz or someone else who completed a prev qualifier can probably help. It's just temporary. What do you want yours changed to?
Got an e-mail from you... glad to find this forum I have just requested a qualification on your hit. My user ID is: A3........GSI. Thank you!
Hi there. Kinda late to the party, I see. But, I updated with my worker ID awhile ago. Just now waiting on the qualification, I guess. Thanks!
hi admin , i took that 1cent qualifier months ago. i also updated profile with worker id. but still not qualified to do hit. pls help and reply asap.

Re: How much does it cost to run a {mturk} forum? It is amazing how much hosting you can get for pennies nowadays. I run a site of my own on Hostgator (nothing to do with mturk) and for $8.95 a month I get all the bells and whistles I could want. I go through 2 or 3 GB of traffic a month on it; theoretically it is “unlimited.” The biggest cost is in the time it takes to update, write new content, etc. The money costs are insignificant. And with a forum, the users are writing all the content. ;-)
I found it but for some reason I don't qualify even though I signed up on here a long time ago. I never heard about any .01 qualifying hits. When did that happen? I mean, it's only a dollar. I don't want to make a big deal out of it. But I thought for sure I'd sent you my worker ID, etc.
I have a forum much larger than turkernation.com (800,000 posts), with 80-100~ visitors active at any time. The URL is: http://habbodiscussion.com Spamgirl posted a "This is how much a popular mturk forum costs..." What she has is overkill. Amazon cloud solution, while scalable, is not necc. for her site. So, while the majority of her revenues are probably going to the server - the real beneficiary is Amazon.
Yeah, I found that post. She is also paying for a dedicated server according to WHOIS. My plan is shared (with over 800 other sites on the server). So there is a good chunk of expense right there.
I guess its up to her how she manages her funds. A $19/mo VPS would have enough cpu to handle the forum load with probably 80% of the VPS to spare. The plan she is on is a cloud solution for scalable sites which get spikes of a lot of traffic. But since TN traffic is constant a cloud based solution using AMAZON web services cloud hosting doesn't make that much sense. Guys, I approved some more hits this morning. I may post a new qualifier tonight!
Why group projects often fail. I like the concept of being a part of a group of mturk workers who all stick together. I'm learning that in order for most projects to be successful, it takes a large group of like-minded participants to make it work. If everyone has their oars in the water, and are all pushing in the same direction, the boat can make great progress! It's getting everyone to agree to work together that's the greatest challenge of all. Anyway, I tried to work on this hit too, but didn't meet qualification. I did receive the E-mail message though.
Not qualified? I was sent an email. It said to look for furca. I requested to do the hit, but it said I was not qualified? I hope I get a chance to do this hit before it's all gone.
I too was not qualified to work on the hit. I would like a chance at future hits as well. This is a great way to reward users. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!
