Hello I was working on mturk and on my second day when I went to do hits I got a message saying "You will not be able to use Amazon Mechanical Turk until your Amazon Payments account is in good standing. If you believe this suspension is an error, please contact Amazon Payments Customer Service to resolve this problem." I was suggested to put in my bank account information, but when I tried I got a message saying "This functionality has been disabled on your account. We have failed in verifying the information submitted by you. Click here to find out more about these restrictions." every time I try to click on the link to see the restrictions it wont load anything. I can not get the link in the support center to open to give me their email or phone number to help resolve this. If you have any information regarding this matter please share. Im hoping to get this solved. Thank you
Yep, had this same exact issue with my account. Never was able to get it resolved - I sent a message to Amazon itself, and was told to fax a bill for my current address to them, along with the email associated with my Payments account. I did and never got a response. I ended up making another account and entering my mother's bank account information for my Payments account, which worked with no problems. I lost $15 from my original account, but ultimately I more than made up for it.
This happened to me too. I contacted them through the email option (I hear it's faster if you call them though) and asked if there was any information I could send them to help them verify my account. They emailed me back within a day and told me to fax my Driver's License along with my email. An hour after faxing, I got another email stating that the status of my account would be communicated in 2-3 days. That was a Tuesday, and I didn't hear anything so when the next Tuesday came around, I sent another polite email asking what was going on with the verification process, if there was anything additional I could send to help it along. They sent me the same canned response that I got after the fax, so I settled in to wait another 2-3 business days before bugging them again. I think it was the day after that email that my account got verified. This is without a bank account attached, mind you. I'm kind of worried I'll hit the same problems when I try to add an account. Anyway; emailing them and/or calling them about it is the only way you can resolve it. You don't get their email from any place called the Support Center. Are you sure you're on the right page? Make sure you go to the Contact Us page, directly from Amazon Payments. The email link leads you to a form which you need to fill out. I would try direct linking you to the page but I don't think I can post links yet.
If I remember right (I dealt with this a couple of months ago,) the email you use for your Amazon account has to be the same as the Payments account. If you want to use your dad's account you would need to start a new mTurk using his Amazon account.
Please do not encourage people to create and work on MTurk accounts under someone else's name. C'mon people.
CALL them. Emailing does nothing really, it will get resolved a lot quicker with a phone call. This should take you to the page to select contact them by phone.. you just put in your phone number and they will call you. https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/contactussend
i called a week ago and they said it would be taken care of within 3 days. a week later still nothing has hapened and im fixin to callthem again on monday unless they fix this
I haven't had similar issues, but from what I've heard on the forum: Call them, don't email. Keep calling until they get it sorted. They don't have a specific number for MTurk, AFAIK, but I've seen 1 206 346-2992 and 1 206 266-2992 as support numbers. Hopefully the generic Amazon support can get it escalated to someone who can actually help. Well, there's your problem. Amazon uses SSNs to verify tax information. Lying about your age when they verify your identity is at the very least really stupid, and at worst fraud. Wait a year and try again.
