I took a chance on this $19 mouse, just got it this afternoon.
    http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-MX-2000-Programmable-Gaming-Laser/dp/B00CEX29K0
probably would have been smart to get feedback before purchase.
no idea how it compares to other cheaper or more expensive mice.
seems pretty solid for a low end mouse.
other more expensive mice have been recomended.
there are a dozen others under $25 on amazon and probably more elsewhere
so it wasn't that easy to pick one. the main options for me were how many buttons, where are the buttons, user reviews mentioning problems and what kind of problems.

this one does have a few problems. one of the thumb buttons is too easy to hit.
the setup software keeps losing focus to another random program
I have open. could just be the wonky Xp taskbar or the wizmouse
program which alows you to scrollwheel in programs you can see but
that don't have focus or scrollwheel support. a minor annoyance.

you don't seem to be able to edit macros or overwrite
    one that you have saved.
otherwise, it seems pretty solid and
the packaging and options available are really well put together.
has extra weights, the mouse has 4 profiles you can select.

for MTurk, you have to worry about hitting the wrong button.
same with any extra button mouse or even some virtual keyboards
or using unfamiliar keyboard combinations intentionally or by mistake.
a backbutton or refresh in a survey can often start you over
and in some cases will kick you out and won't let you start over.
there goes the reward and any time you spent to that point down the drain.

first thing you want to do is change the default forward and back buttons and cycle to the next profile button assignments.
you can have the first profile used for MTurk
if you aren't so paranoid about hitting the wrong button, you can leave the default to choose the next profile or whatever.

so what are good key combinations to assign to buttons?
copy and paste are ofter used.
    scroll right is useful sometimes
I like having an enter key so I put that in place of the DPI up.
the mouse doesn't really have as many buttons as I thought it would.
there are no buttons on the right side
there is no right left tilt buttons on the scrollwheel.
as mentioned above, the main thumb button is too easy to hit when
you grab the mouse or are turning it, your hand creeps up and hits the button
so you have to constantly remember to hold the mouse farther back.
the software doesn't have an option for a button to do nothing.
seems like an oversight. maybe assign that one to shift?
maybe control key down so you can control drag selected text to copy?

the mouse has memory so you can plug into another computer
without needing to reprogram, nice feature.

** this is not a review and for the skeptics, **
** I have no interest beyond this post. **

there is an generic mouse x button program to assign keys to butons
    the wizmouse program
we put many miles on the mouse, I've been avoiding upgrading my mouse for quite awhile, probably many in the same situation.
