why the hard blocks? did the requesters notice abnormally quick times? random hard blocks are not so random. he had to of done work for them at some point. i have a hard block from oscar smith and have never done work for them. but i did use them for captchas and i guess all the returns earned me a block.

like to think the world is just and this was more then likely earned in some way or another. If not then i am sorry to hear it, no system is perfect. If you were scamming the system that means you were costing amazon, requesters, and myself quality work and money and will be happy to hold the door open for ya on the way out.

Razor was not suspended for anything devious or scam-related. GoodJob, a requester known for mass rejecting and then hard blocking workers who inquire via email, did such to Razor. Because he had 2 non-scam-related blocks (venue quality and another) prior for dropping below accuracy, the third one triggered Amazon's suspension.

Razor does not run scripts or bots. He is a human just like me who has shared with me (and I with him) many advanced techniques for finding, accepting, and completing tasks at a higher accuracy and rate than the tyipcal worker. This combined with his inclination to share his (sometimes only slightly exaggerated) results in pride has caused hatred among many who believed it not possible he achieve the results he does, probably attributing them to cheating.

Our back and forth has greatly improved both of our legitimate skillsets on mTurk and he will be tremendously missed by those who appreciated his contributions

Well, Razor, I must admit something. If you've done nothing else, you've always provided me with entertainment. That's something I need to offset the dreariness in my life.

Favorite quality? That would be when you speak of yourself in the third person. Thanks for the laughs...

    Good luck.

If you were going to go to the trouble of finding Oscar hits and accepting one of them, why not just go ahead and do it then?

I'm sorry but completing tasks at a higher accuracy and rate than the tyipcal worker? The typical worker does not get booted from mturk...

did not look for them i left the page up. when doing other batches i reload the oscar page and complete the captcha there then return it. its impossible to complete a captcha on a popular batch as someone else will accept the HIT before you ever get 6 digits typed in. common work around, now i use crowdsource.

Workers who get 3 blocks get booted, and they can be a casual or heavy turker. If you're implying his boot was due to foul play, you didn't read my post

I use Jon Brelig penny hits. I can complete them fast and that way I don't have to return them. :) I don't do oscars if I can avoid them!

sorry think you misunderstood. I don't "do" oscars. I have never , not once, ever done Oscars. I was leaving a tab loaded up with Oscar while I worked on my favorite batches in another tab. Once a captcha popped up I would flip tabs to Oscar and complete the captcha. Then I would return the Oscar hit and go back to doing my normal batch.

Would take a dozen failures to get the captcha completed in my normal batch because they are accepted to quickly. So I leave a dummy batch up on the side to quickly get rid of the captcha. I do NOT do Oscar work and never will. I do NOT search for or do a HIT just to complete the captcha.

I'm not suggesting it was due to foul play. Based on what I've read here he worked too fast and didn't pay attention. Hence the blocks. You said he had a higher accuracy than the typical worker, and that does not make sense. People don't get blocked for being too accurate.

That's not always true. It may not have anything to do with this suspension, but there are hits out there which are lovingly referred to as "majority rules", in which they have several people do the hit and if the majority of those do it wrong, they are the ones who are approved. For instance, say a hit was give an answer to 1+1=. Let's say three people do that hit. You correctly answer 2. The other two people are either stupid or not paying attention, or whatever. They say the answer is 3. Under the majority rules system, they are approved, and you are rejected. You generally can't tell whether they are MR unless you or somebody else has done them, and tell you. Otherwise, you will just be rejected with no reason given.
