Afaik there weren't any unusual similarities that stood out within the group that got masters today. It was a very wide range as far as stats, volume, and time go. Apparently a lot of them got blocked by l2w at some point, but who hasn't been blocked by l2w. If anyone wants my db for comparison they can have it though, assuming that I can figure out how to do that.
I dont have a block from l2w i would get into a detailed masters discussion, i got some pretty good ideas about it, but i dont wanna shoot off the last remaining limbs i have...if you get my drift
What is the deal with l2w? Did anyone ever find out of the hard blocks were legit or if it was really a problem in mturks mailing system? They have a batch of 50 really easy HITs is why I ask.
I would expect that as long as the words you pick make sense in the context at the moment that you type them it'll be fine. It's from a psycholinguistics lab and for someone who does research "about how people process written and spoken language" (consent form). We're reading articles that are fifty years old without any context. It can't be about whether we're wrong but about how we're wrong.
Amazon sent a lot of people emails saying that it was just a mistake, but I think that's pretty unlikely to be true since it happened multiple times with this requester and only this requester. I think what happened is they got bombed with emails but also didn't want to deal with the requester, so they just told everyone not to worry about it and disregarded it. That's just speculation on my part though.
Don't do them unless you want a hard block. Oh yeah, they also have (if you scroll back) some pretty nasty TO specifically related to their batch HITs.
I did two of their HIT's just now to see what happens with it. I don't have any blocks on my account so if it's still happening it won't do any damage. I'll be sure to let yall know if I get a nasty email or anything. Perhaps it is fixed or something. Although, according to TO they soft block people so that only new people can do their hits. If this were true, why don't they just limit the number of hits to 1 or do like crowdflower/source and put up the no more work for you message?
Yeah, that's total bullshit. It was a hard block from a douchey/incompetent requester and they told a few people who repeatedly contacted them and seemed worried to just not sweat it, it's no big deal. In fact, it probably isn't. Edit: by 'total bullshit' I meant amazon's concilliatory emails, not your post.

I'm doing that thing where I find HITs for people, it's fun being the guinea pig and finding some good stuff for you great folk.
Damn I miss Matt Rubin. I imagine this is what it's like to have the ToTW qual nowadays. *daydreaming*
