I used to watch TWD religiously, but I stopped 1 or 2 years ago iirc. I watched the season opener just because it was allegedly so gory... But it didn't hook me. If you like Zombie shows, Z Nation was good. World War Z was also good (Netflix). I prefer Apocalypse to Zombie Apocalypse movies though.
I like both of these. Any apocalypse stuff streaming on Netflix? I liked the BBC show Survivors and loved Jericho. Can't think of any movies off hand.
Best one ever - These Final Hours. It's Australian. Very, very dark. I would argue darker than The Road, which was previously my favorite in the genre. If you are cool with non-streaming, The War Game is a very hard to watch documentary about nuclear war. It's from 1965. Edit: There was also a film about Hiroshima (an HBO Doc called something like Black Rain, White Light iirc) that is very, very depressing. But quasi-apocalyptic. The world didn't really end, but it was close LOL. So I would add that to the list.

Oh yeah, I watched that awhile back. It may have been the drinks but it's one of the few movies to ever make me tear up. Speaking of Australian movies and zombies, I liked Wyrmwood which is on there. And now I'm 85% sure I've had this exact conversation on here with you or someone else.
Speaking of The Road apparently James fucking Franco is directing a remake of one of my favorite books, Blood Meridian.
Speaking of the Apocalypse, Mr. Foodstamp just graced us with his presence LOL. Twice in a day! How could we get so lucky. I don't think we had this convo before but it's possible. Definitely didn't have it recently.
