Yep, it's called a notebook(not the movie). I've got one, several, in fact. And a pencil, several of those, too. Works a charm. Even without the vagaries of a computer...I've now so many approvals that I only keep track of some things. Never been dinged for a repeated HIT.
I've been copy/pasting them into a spreadsheet. It is a pain in the ass to do, but I can just do a search on the requester's name. And have the old dashboard open in a tab with database up to Dec 15. Checking both manually is annoying though so I've only been doing it if there is some doubt in my mind. I REALLY hope he gets the database functioning within 45 days of the changeover so I don't get a gap.
Wow. That's amazing! I'm in similar shoes except I use spreadsheet online and just copy and paste what I've done from my dashboard. Too lazy to actually write it down. We came from a time before Hit database existed. When I started turking, I realized I couldn't possibly remember whether I did it or not so I just started keeping track on the computer's notepad then when that became too long, I moved them to a spreadsheet and continued still today.
I used to spreadsheet all surveys, but after a while stopped doing most because of the database. I still add ones with big bonuses though. Or the ones that tell you never to do another CHARTREUSE TARANTULA hit again but neglect to put that code in the damn HIT title.
You could go to the general thread and install that script that allows you to keep the old database up to date and check on that if you wanted.
Is there any other way to contact a requestor besides the contact link found in the details link of the HIT? I keep getting an error.
Other than that on the new site, no clue. You can try the old site way. Add requester ID at the end. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?requesterId=REPLACEWITHREQUESTERID
Can't wait to see it. I heard they're planning on making more because they were having fun making them.
