I sumbmitted a HIT this morning and it's not showing up in my dashboard? It doesn't show today at all. I know I submitted it. I didn't return it as it's not :confused:still available and no one else could have done it (video transcribe). Any idea where it went?

Still now showing up. I emailed them and she does have my HIT but if it doesn't show in my dashboard I'm afraid I won't get paid for it and it was a $20 HIT

What kind of hit paid $20? I'd be skeptical that it's even legitimate. Haven't personally had experience with that much of a reward offering, it's just what I've heard.

I'm pretty sure she is talking about a legitimate HIT. :) One of the transcription companies pays that for video transcribing, although from the amount of time the work actually requires, it doesn't end up to be a good per hour rate for too many people.

And OP: yes, I'd be concerned too. Even though they're a legit company, I don't know how you can be sure you'll get paid for it if it's not on your dashboard. I guess you can hope she bonuses you! Might want to ask her how she plans to pay you.

However, I think it's a little-known fact that it is possible for submitted HITs to disappear. I have had a legit company do that because it didn't meet their standards and they didn't want to reject, but I wasn't around to redo it in time. I'm not sure how you ask the requester about that tactfully, though, if they didn't already tell you they did it! And of course, still possible that it is just a weird and really unfortunate glitch.

I actually just emailed mturk to ask what could have happened.
And ewd76, I do video transcribing. My last one I got $57 off of. They are real.

Oh and I did ask over at speechink about getting paid and she said she didn't see an issue that could happen but I am going to watch it like a hawk to make sure.

  7. Clogan, did you noted the assignment ID, audio length and audio title of the HIT? Priscilla might be able to repost the HIT if you send her the specifics. I'd faced a different problem with SpeechInk recently and she reposted the HIT the same day itself when I gave her the details.

Yes, I still have the transcription saved with the ID numbers, and I document the length of all the videos I do. That's what I was thinking of doing, having her repost it because normally I would have been paid by now.:(

  9. I finally figured what would have happened. Did you searched the previous day's status detail? If the HIT has more than 1 day timer and you've submitted it the next day, the HIT will be shown only in the previous day's dashboard listing, NOT in the day you've submitted the HIT. I had a very similar experience with another Requester, that's how I figured it out.
