Well, I suppose I'll just introduce myself here as this is my first post. Hi everyone! I'm Mike, and from the States. I only began using Mturk about three hours ago, and I'm truly lost as to where to start. I've only made about four dollars, and did 30 tasks, but it seems as if there is any good available HIT's. I'm just doing the 510 minute sruveys right now for 50 cents to a buck, but I was hoping there would be some decent 5 to 10 cent bulk HIT's, which I can't seem to find. And I'm hardly qualified for ANYTHING! The only bulk HIT's avaiable are from Crowdsource, and sure some offer 16 cents, but it takes about 5-7 minutes just to do one of those hits. Any ideas where to start?! Thanks in advance guys.
When you start, you are allowed 100 HITs a day. I think that this lasts for nine or 10 days. So, this is a great time to do those surveys and to do jobs that you feel certain won't get rejected. Be sure to check out the best requestors, which are listed throughout the forum. Make sure to occasionally cilck the "hits assigned to me" tab to make sure that you don't have an open job that will get listed as "abandoned". I like to list the HITs, when I search, so that the newest ones show up first. That way, the fresh stuff shows up at the top. THAT SAID, when I started, I searched for high-paying surveys from the oldest first so that I could see things that I'd otherwise not come across. Good luck!
5-10 Cent bulk hits that are Super fast.. are super rare.. Todays mturk you kinda have to actully work for a living...
Are you using keyboard shortcuts? For those .16 HITS, I have Google open in a separate window. I use alt+tab to go back and forth between my MTurk window and the Google page. I use ctrl+v to paste "http://" into all the boxes first, using tab to get from one to another. Then I search, use the alt+tab to move back and forth, and ctrl+v all of my addresses into the answer boxes. I think that you can shave those HITS down to under two minutes. Another tip is that once you get some favorite requestors, you might want to have several MTurk tabs open and on each you could have the search results for one of your requestors. Refresh the page every so often to quickly find HITS from them. It's more efficient than browsing the available HITS.
I've got absolutely no problem with "working". I was just curious to see if that's how it long it usually takes to make 0.16 cents, if that's the case, I'll be more than happy to work for.
So, does Mturk cap you from doing further hits when you get to 100, or what? They capped me when I hit 66 hits completed. Anyone know if that's the norm or what?
Your capped to 100 hits accepted per day now if you complete the hit or return it is your own choice. 100 hits Accepted. For your first 10 days. After that your pretty much free. the 16 cent crowdsource hits are good but they do take some time there are other quicker hits that pay less but you can bang them out pretty quick to make your total add up. Today a new requestor showed up I took a chance on him did 200 at 5 cents each they took about 4-5 seconds each got 10 rejected the rest approved within 1 hour.. so today im looking at making around 26$ counting the other random shit i did today so yeah just bang out the small cheap crappy hits for your first 10 days get yer hit % up to 99% then you will have access to better hits and can start making decent money per day

Thanks Overall approval rating took a .1% dip from 99.5 to 99.4 so that kinda hurt but for 26$ i'll say it was worth it
Well, yesterday, as I previously said, they capped me at 66 and today they capped me at 79. At least I'm getting further! I've made 10 dollars in the past two days, so I guess that's a start! And about 6 more dollars of stuff pending, I can't complain!
Grr. Crowdsource was the only requester with bulk HIT's that I was allowed to do, but now it seems they've stopped me from doing ANY of their HIT's after only about 10. *sigh* I did a good 80 of them yesterday. Wonder what's going on. I wonder what I can do now...
Should I do Crowdflower? I did about 10 hits this morning, and it's been about 6,7 hours, and have yet to credit. Is it worth it to do a bunch of them as that's really the only mass HIT requester I've got available? Or, is that a bit of a risk? Their reviews are pretty average, so...
Crowdflower (Dolores Labs) generally does not reject; it's "worth it" to do a bunch of them if you can stand the abysmally low pay and sometimes absurd quality control.
Well, I was able to do one of their hits in about 20-30seconds worth 6 cents. Yeah, not a great time to money ratio, but I'm more interested in getting 1,000 HIT's accepted than anything at the moment. Hopefully it'll al be worth it in the end, as that will most likely expand my horizons. I need some more requesters! :X
*Facepalm*, nevermind. Can't do those xD. It says I've completed all the work. And does anyone know if Crowdsource is out of hits or what? It still says they've got 16,000 HIT's, but when I click it... it says no more HIT's available.
That's a soft per-person cap. CS does that a lot. It means that no more HITs are available to you, not that they're out of HITs for everyone.
Does it reset after 24 hours or something? Those were really my only reliable source of getting money before hitting the 1,000 hit mark. Somedays I'm able to do about 50+ of them, and this morning I was only able to do about 10. Is that normal at all? o.o Or is that soft cap, indefinite when you say "no more HITs are available for you?
Anyone know when CrowdFLOWER usually approves/rejects hits? I did a bunch this morning (as in 1-3am) and now it's 9 at night and not a single one has been approved or rejected. Perhaps 24 hours?
