Still one in Northridge & Burbank, love the sauce that they use. Try to get one every couple months or so when I am out that way
On the west coast In-N-Out is the best <$10 burger. I like Five Guys fries better than In-N-Out's, though.
Big Boy was the best. The only one I know now is driving out from LA to Vegas in some shitty town. There aren't many around any more. Their burger was just like a Big Mac with the 1000 Island, but actually real meat and tasted delicious. Shame they never continued to catch on.
Holy crap, you lived in Brownsville? I grew up in Harlingen. Managed to escape to Austin in 91 thank goodness.
Woah! Yeah, lived there for ~4 years before we moved in 88 to North Carolina. My dad worked in Matamoros. I kind of liked it at the time, but I was young. It seemed way different when I went back to visit in the late 90's. I've heard it's gotten a lot worse since then, even.
That was a solid batch only got two I had to throw back, thanks Noblis. The ones with Lee Hi were annoying though.
Bob's Big Boy is great for the fact alone that fact David Lynch ate there every single day for seven years straight and fueled many of his film ideas. Like Blue Velvet? Twin Peaks? Wild at Heart? Thank Bob's Big Boy.
I only got $12 worth of Noblis but I now have panda's for all values... So if they keep posting like this, I'll be set for the future. Hope that risk pays off and they don't switch up how they post though.
Grew up in Northridge (Granada Hills). There used to be one on Devonshire and Reseda across from Shakeys but it's been a decade since I've been in the valley. Doubt they're still there. Only spend time in Palm Springs or Santa Monica when I'm out that way now. Miss me some Big Boy. Shakey's too for that matter.
They must have lost something as they moved East, because we have Big Boy's in Michigan and nobody gives a shit about them. It's viewed as being on par with Denny's only with worse food and atmosphere.
i'm not sure. that's why i thought it was a risk. but if they keep them, i'll be able to net a ton of the 1, 1.12, 1.22 etc ones without having to battle everyone else when they first post. i got a steady trickle of them this time at least.
I don't know why I keep getting excited for Noblis video batches. They always suck ass. Whole bunch of video interviews with the subject going in and out of frame every 20 seconds for 9 minutes, and then a whole 70 cents as my reward.
I'm pretty sure they do. None of the ones from today showed as 'visited' links for me, so I'm assuming they are different each time.
