Terraria is like that. Except it's all 2D. Can't think of anything similar in a large scale way. Um...Life is Feudal sorta kinda but mostly protecting it from other people.
Basically I would love a game like Fallout 4 but with no quests or storyline. You start the game on a settlement with a 4 hour timer or something that starts ticking down as soon as you spawn in. In those 4 hours you need to explore the world to find resources to build your settlement up as well as your player so you can explore more difficult areas. When the timer hits 0 your settlement gets attacked by a wave of enemies. If you survive it repeats with a harder wave and continues until you are overrun and the game ends and you start from scratch again. So much cool shit could be done like giant monsters attacking your base where you have to fight them off ect ect. See the reason I love Guildwars 2 so much is I hate questing. I love exploring, roaming and crafting/building shit with the stuff I find. In GW2 you can roam and level up by crafting, exploring and doing events as you run by them if you want. Great system.
i have my own gw2 guild, building all the resources in my guild hall myself xD It basically is a solo guild but I have some friends who do log in occasionally. All the stuff in the guild hall I put in myself though The problem for me right now in guild wars 2 is that I have done everything possible (minus raids). Dungeons? Ran them multiple times. World bosses? Aside from the newly updated Shatterer, I have done months of straight grinding. Months of Orr when gw2 first launched. Got a legendary weapon (without buying, except for the precursor, but that was back at launch). 100%ed Tryia and all of the Expansion areas. Tangled Depths is my favorite place of the 4 new maps. The things I do now in gw2 are just grindy because the guild hall takes ungodly amounts of flax/elder wood/mithril at the level i'm at. Have you tried the black desert online closed beta test this past weekend? I loooove it and it might be my next mmo to play aside from gw2 That being said.. Anyone want to make the thread for tomorrow (2/23)? If anyone wants to make it, please reply quoting this post, and then saying 'I'll make it for (2/23)' so that people will know Rules also have been edited, the strike system is out and the time to post has been more lenient. http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?34156-Daily-Great-Hits-Thread-rules-for-Calling-and-Making
So, AI Indoor Project soft blocked me. No clue why, I didn't even do that many of their hits because they bored me to death.
GW2 got so old for me as soon as I hit 80. Then again, I pretty much leveled all my characters in WvW, and when that changed, I just couldn't mess with it anymore. I don't know of any games like what you're describing. Except strategy things like Age of Mythology. I remember playing that for a bit and then suddenly getting attacked like crazy. Tropico, to a lesser degree. But on the RPG/MMO front, umm...nothing I can think of. I'm totally loving ESO these days, but that's got no building in it at all. I just like that the quests aren't quests in the traditional sense. More like various plotlines you uncover and help out with. You might like um...WURM for straight building and minimal combat. Very difficult game, though, since you literally have to create everything from scratch.
