AHHHH CALLING ALL COMPUTER WHIZZES! Um..it means bad, bad, really bad stuff when you can't even fire up your Windows recovery disk (on DVD) rite? >.> Just tosses me onto a blank screen with a pretty background and leaves me there alone TO DIE.

 

It was bliss.

What Windows version? And you did switch it to boot off of cd in the bios, right?

 

I'm gonna regret not doing more of those when they're gone.

 

Win 7. Annnd I dunno. It started off the disks fine just on reboot. But I did dip into the BIOS to make sure, and I selected DVD. It said press Enter to select it. I pressed Enter. Nuffin happened. Selected somethin else, Enter, nuffin. No save no confirm nuffin. So I backed out of the menu with Esc and it restarted - seemed to be off the DVD. It was whirring n stuffs, but dies after it loads files and leaves me no way out of that blank screen.

Edit: Strangely, my recovery partition does the same thing. Loads files and dies on that same screen. Never loads the menu. So weirrrd.

 

I think you have to either use the arrows or the + and - to move it up in order so dvd is first then don't exit with escape use save and exit which I think is f10 it should show a list of what does what at the bottom of the screen.

 

Just checked my email, and 25 minutes after I contacted them I got the transfer complete emails. So it took them 24 hours and 25 minutes. No $5 bonus. lol

 

Yeah, strangely there wasn't any save option on it. So bizarre. I think I figured out the issue, though. My blank screen of lonely death isn't actually dead. It just takes 900 years for the freaking recovery to load. Like 30-60 mins according to someone. So now I wait. And hope for the best.

 

Why are you doing the recovery disk dance?

 

I know, right? Comp crashed (froze trying to restart) annnnd after a hard reboot, it no longer loads Windows. Just sends me into an endless loop from splash screen to "your shit's fucked sorry start normally anyway, sucker?" options to start screen over and over. Trying to get into the system recovery partition so I can at least save some files before resetting to factory. Why? Cuz it's been a bitch to me all week and it needs a kick in the ass.
