Hi, I recently became a missionary (for lack of a better word) and now I have sporadic turking hours. I've only been making around a dollar a week. I just wanted to post and see if you have any advice for good requesters who always seem to be available. I tried Oscar hits but his never add up to much. I really enjoy turking. I do Crowdsource whenever I get an email, but when they are gone, unfortunately they are gone.

    Thanks and God bless

Crowdsurf, but just make sure you do them right. They are almost always around. There might be a day here and there where there isn't something up, but that's pretty rare. That's better than Oscar pays, and certainly a lot more interesting.

Narrow down your HITs. Toward the right side of the Mechanical Turk search bar, enter in a value and click the check box 'for which you are qualified' and click the 'go' button. IE; you want HITs that pay at least .75 cents (or whatever amount you want) for which you are qualified. The search bar itself can remain empty. This forces the system to bring results with only your monetary amount and the HITs that you can do. Keep in mind, the higher the monetary value, the less HITs you'll have returned in the search results but your account will accrue more quickly this way.

Surveys usually pay decent for the amount of time they take. I second the vote for Crowdsurf if you like transcription (or want to get started). They are fairly easy to do and pay quick, with few rejections.
