You'd have a lot better luck asking in the daily threads where everyone hangs out. Their reviews on TurkOpticon don't look promising on the bonus, though.
I accepted a hit today that timed out before I could complete it. I went to "hits assigned to you" and tried 2 more times, but it timed out too quickly all three times. I sent a message to the hit originator, and let them know that their hit was timing out too quickly to complete it. (I also gave them the information they wanted in the hit, that I didn't have enough time to paste) Then I see that now I have a 3 on my HIT abandonment rate. I didn't abandon the hits. I'm still new to this and am worried that this is going to hurt me. Is there anything I can or should do? Any advice?
The abandonment rate does not affect you at all. Requesters rarely care about that. They mostly go for HITs approved or HIT approval rates.
Hi! I',m new here, working for the University of Arizona and I have a request but I can't start new threads. I feel like I need some help...
Does anyone else have a note at the top of their Edit Account Settings in Amazon Payments saying "Learn more about Amazon's request to validate your account information" I didn't get an email requesting I verify information and I'm on hold with Amazon Payments now and they're saying everything looks fine....
I have that on my account and I'm ok. I called them to ask about that and they said the same thing, that my account is ok and not to worry about it.
I just installed a new wireless router. I logged on MTURK and something is wrong now. I used to be able to see thousands of HITS. Now when I click on HITS available there are only a handful. Is there a setting in MTURK or do I have to do something with my router? The only settings I can find on MTURK are the boxes that say HITS I am qualified for, show all HITS, etc. It's not that. It seems as if there are now thousands of HITS that are invisible because I changed my router. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hello, newbe here. I'm having fun turking. I started Sunday and am concentrating reading and learning and just increasing my HIT numbers, not worrying about $$$. I turk before work and after supper here on the east coast. I have experience in facial recognition so I enjoy doing those. I also enjoy calling places pretending to be someone else, LOL. The only problem I've had is first day I accidently hit the enter key and submitted work before I completed it, in fact I did it twice.
I think we've all done stuff like that. Sometimes if you message the requestor and if they do in fact respond then they might let you redo the hit if it's an outside link and not reject you.
Hi there, 1- when users allowed to post new threads? 2- I have hit which is not approved since Jan 1st, and requester does not exist anymore, when i try to contact i am getting : "Failed to send comments We're sorry, but this Requester could not be reached." What i can do to get it approved?
Hi! Welcome to the forum! Now that you posted, you may start a new thread. HITs automatically approve in 30 days if they don't get approved before then. If the requester doesn't exist for some reason, it'll get approved when it reaches 30 days.
Hello! Somewhat of a newbie. (I transcribed some files on mturk a few years ago. Decided to pick it back up again for some pocket change.) Something unusual is happening with a transcription I turned in earlier this evening. It shows as pending approval in my list of HITs, with a pending award of $7.71. The same exact HIT is still listed as an available job on mturk, with a reward of $8.60. It's not just the same audio file, it also has the same ID. What does this mean? Thanks in advance!
Never mind ... I contacted Speechpad directly about this via their worker support email. It turned out this was a bug. Speechpad fixed it.
Quick question: Is there a script or tool that I can install that automatically updates/refreshs all posts or hits submitted within the daily hit thread? I don't like manually refreshing, just to keep up with all the hits or requester posting during peak times. Thanks in advance.
