Has anyone had any success linking your Amazon Payments account to anything other than a standard bank account?

I am trying to help a homeless couple get started turking. Because they are homeless, they have been unable to get a standard bank account. THey have a Walmart BLuebird account, and a GO Mastercard, but neither of these can be linked to Amazon Payments. When they try to do the "random deposits", they get a message telling them they cannot link the account.

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated!! If you have something like a prepaid card, are there fees, etc?, for example.

    Thanks!!!!!!!

I am fairly certain that a bluebird card CAN be linked to the account as a card. I've never used it on payments before but I really do want to say that bluebird can be used. There are multiple guides out there for how to link a card as a bank to payments, maybe that can be of use to you.

Thanks for the suggestions - they finally had a Wells Fargo rep help them out with an account so now we just need to get them a computer of their own (using thr library computers or their phones) - and find them a place to live besides their car.

    Credit Union?

That's great, but my experience has been that mainstream banks like Wells Fargo aren't great for low-income customers. They often have minimum deposits required to avoid a monthly fee, and overdrafts or bounced transactions incur fees as high as $39.

Have you checked to see if any local credit unions would be willing to give them a break? Their fees are typically much lower and they tend not to require any kind of minimum balance.

Good for you for helping these folks out.
