So I'm starting work on a browser extension that will hopefully work better than TurkAlert, i.e., it will alert you about HIT postings much more quickly and will hopefully be able to do so right from your browser window, instead of having to check your email.

But in order to time the script properly for checking search results, does anyone know what the timeout is for mTurk search pages? As in, how many requests can you make per second before you get that message about exceeding the maximum number of page requests?

This isn't gonna be a helpful post because idk how to find out what the timeout is.

Just wanted to say that you are awesome, as is any coder who helps make these scripts!

I want to say that it's about 25 -30. When those Two Lakes are up and I hold down the Ctrl + click I open enough windows to fill the "HITs Available To You" up to 3 pages and no more. I'll try to pay attention next time and let you know.

Not sure about searching the site. However, for accepting, returning, and submitting jobs on MT, the maximum time is about 2 seconds. If you do any faster than this for an extended period of time, say, 30 seconds, the message about exceeding the Maximum rate will appear.
