We are currently qualifying workers for Beverage Counting tasks. The task simply consists of reviewing a product catalog of beverages of different sizes and varieties, then tagging how many products of each beverage appear in an image. When we have done this task in the past, workers have found this to be very enjoyable to complete. We have one active product catalog, which is used for all current tasks. In the next month we will add an additional product catalog. For each catalog, there will be hundreds of images posted each week. In order to meet the demand, we need help from some quality workers. We pay you for qualification tasks, and we will grant you the qualification based on quality work. Many of the training tasks represent corner cases and are more difficult than the production photos. We will present you with the correct answer upon submission - please take the time to review your work to learn the corner cases as it will help you be faster in the production tasks. There is an extensive set of instructions that will help teach you what to do, and you can always send a message with any questions. Qualification is underway right now on MTurk. Search for "ocmp, web, count, shop, cooler, sweden". Thanks, OCMP
I see that there is a qualification required in order to access these HITs. I had requested it a while ago but did not receive it. How does one become qualified to access your qualification HITs? EDIT: Oops, nevermind. I see there is one up, but it is restricted to US workers only.
Thanks for posting this here. There is something that I would like some clarification on. When we click on the "correct" example there are many that I have found errors on. I'm not talking about the different flavors or colors of the products but marking blank spaces with the "other" designation, for instance. Or marking an empty space in front of a bottle as a blank space. I thought we were just supposed to mark a blank row. Also, there are some that there is no way the one doing the tagging would have known what the product was but instead of tagging it unreadable, for instance, they have assigned a specific product to it or the "other" category. I did send Feedback on many of the ones that I found errors on but I haven't heard anything back from OMCP so I'm not sure if anyone sees those messages. My biggest worry is that my work is being graded against someone who didn't do the "correct" example correctly and mine would be marked as having errors. A little guidance would be very helpful. One last thing.....Someone here posted that they have already received the qualification. Can we assume that if we have done 100 of your hits, or example, and haven't received the qualification that we won't be getting it? I don't want to continue to do the test ones if there isn't a prayer that I'm going to get the qualification. Thanks for your help!!
Thanks for your interest and feedback. We are in the process of reviewing all work from the qualifications and responding to the messages we received. If there are instances where our gold (known) answers are incorrect, you will not be penalized. I can expedite our review of your work if you send me your worker ID. Some workers have already qualified, but we are still recruiting more.
I have honestly tried to do these HITs, but it's virtually impossible to distinguish between some of the various flavors because the images are too blurry and/or the sample images are too small to help. For example, I just attempted one image where all I could see were the lids of some flavors of Bonaqua. I could not see the front of the bottle. The lids were red. There are two flavors of Bonaqua with red lids. How am I to choose which one is correct?
It is also pretty much impossible now to obtain your qualification, as there are only five or six types of HITs left. Since you require a worker to complete 20-25 HITs to obtain the qualification, how is that possible at this time?
I am from India Hello sir, i saw your training hits .. location requires us.but i am from india.there is any possiblities for indian turkers to work your hits.
I thought I had replied here but it appears I have not. We've had our qualification up for the past few days. Have you been able to work with it? If you have continued to have issues, please let me know. You may PM your worker ID if you wish.
