They reached out to me today too regarding a general contents HIT that I did not enter a model number for. They were rather snarky about it too. After I responded, they ended up sending me this: "Question for you - we are thinking of using our ocr in these hits, whereby you would only have to draw a square around the model number and our ocr engine does the rest. Is it easier for you to type make model and serial, or is it easier to draw the rectangle for each - or select from the available rectangles (as our system will recognize all text blocks). Not sure if using the mouse to do this stuff interrupts the speed at which you can process these hits." I told them that I would prefer to type it in as long as it's legible rather than trying to draw a box around something, especially in the case where there are multiple pictures of an item. They then told me: "The boxes would already be there. You would have to select the right box, and possible adjust it slightly. the ocr portion is pretty perfect." Seems as though they are making some changes around there. I don't know if it's going to be good or bad, but I do know that I am going to be extra careful doing their HITs in the meantime.
Oh my gosh... I think I love Stanford HCI. So I was supposed to get $65 for being a facilitator on this week long disability group project (about an hour a day, so five hours total). I just logged in to slack and saw this message from our moderator: hi team! I talked to my advisor about how you all are doing an amazing job and it's really difficult to do the work in ~1h/day we had originally imagined. So we decided to increase the pay to $100 for members and $150 for facilitators. Keep up the good work! $150 for 5 hours! The task is also actually sort of fun. I strongly recommend getting that dreamteam-huddler qual from Stanford HCI if you see it anytime soon!

Agree with Stanford HCI. They're one of my fav requestors. The group HITs are somewhat fun if you get a good group.
