when doing App Annotations do you guys just do it at your own pace(less than 2 minutes) or do you wait for the timer?
Does anyone know if John Smith rejects or am I pretty safe to do the hits? I think I am doing them right but just don't want to risk rejections.
I, nor anyone else, should tell you that you should break a requester's rules/terms. You should follow what he says and let the timer go to at least 2 minutes. But, everyone here is they're own person and can make their own decisions so do at your own risk. That being said, he is a great and highly respected requestor! Love his HITs! You'll get better as you go, but don't worry about rejections, I've got about 400 submitted with 0 rejects. As long as you don't spam or carelessly answer them, he will more than likely approve. Just do the best job you can, as with any HIT.
I've did tons of his hits and have never had a rejection. I go over mine thoroughly and it rarely takes 2 minutes. He's never rejected me. Also I have been doing his hits since yesterday evening fairly fast and he hasn't put a limit on me. I've done quite a few and made quite a bit... no restriction whatsoever! BTW: If you are doing quality work he will not reject you. His 2 minute timer is there because some people are doing it in seconds and you have to go look over the app which should take at least a certain amount of time.
I did 18 of John Smith's App annotations on Thursday and all of them were approved. I'm pretty sure I didn't spend at least two minutes on all of them. Then again, I'm new to Mturk and I'm pretty sure I spent more than 2 mins on quite a few trying to figure things out. =] But don't count on my word, just thought I'd share my experience.

How do you guys feel about HITs like this?: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=372BFDRITDTODKLYUN5TUS8B5Q5C12 I don't like HITs where I need to give my address. Anyone have any experience with these? Have they sent you spam mail or anything to your home address? I feel uneasy about giving that kind of info.
Those types of hits are scams. Ignore and report them when you find them. They are nothing but scam loops where you keep going and going. Endless picking this or that ads... garbage.
