Gotcha. I'm in Missouri, about 20 minutes from the Arkansas border. We just bought our farm out here. I'm from the east coast originally and lived on the west coast for a few years, so the midwest is a different feeling. We actually know all our neighbors and they bring us jam and cookies and stuff. It is so weird.
When I was in college we would go to Missouri almost every Sunday, on account of Arkansas not selling liquor on Sundays. It's interesting to me that you think of where you live as "the midwest", since you're no more than 20 minutes from The South But yeah, anywhere in Arkansas I ever lived, if you didn't meet your neighbors and such people would assume you were a methhead or cook. Unless you lived in an apartment, where enough people were methheads that people don't meet their neighbors. Anyone with a little bit of land will get to know one another, though. You never know when people might come in handy. How much land you on?
Yup, there are a lot of liquor stores right on the border there. Our town only has 800 people, but I don't even live in town, I live another 10 miles out. We wanted to be in the middle of nowhere.

Right now we have about 70 chickens, 6 ducks, 2 turkeys, 3 rabbits, 30 eggs in the incubator and a pig. Will be adding 4 calves in the spring and another pig and who knows what else.
