Ugh, the fucking Mets. Such a shitty week to be a fan of Chicago sports.

I kind of get annoyed with the lurking, but at the same time, how much input can there be? There are already questions that go unanswered here- people know, they just dont want to take a minute to answer (and i'm guilty of that as well sometimes). Good surveys will get posted by several people at a time. What good would those 57 people do if they started commenting? It be nice if they didn't just snatch up hits that are posted, but them posting wouldn't change that, either.

Eh, if it's gone from TM and scraper then lurkers here aren't going to matter at all.

"Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, we don’t have any available surveys for you at this time. Please try again later."

    ...

(I've never done a HIT for this requester, wtf?)

That's been my luck with surveys since I got home.

And, to be fair, a lot of the lurkers are clueless. I don't mean that to be rude. I lurked when I had nothing to contribute because I was dumb. And then I learned a bit and started posting. So while people were posting great hits and advice, I couldn't really take advantage of it. The people with just a few posts ask some really obvious (to us) questions. Which is fine- everyone's been there. But I don't think that people with no posts are somehow turking geniuses that are nabbing all the good shit out from under us.

And, to be fair, a lot of the lurkers aren't necessarily lurkers. Logged out members, members not logged in on multiple devices, bots, etc.

I guess what I mean about the lurkers is just the anonymity of it. I mean, at least we have names and faces, in the Internet sense. Lurkers are just totally anonymous. It's kind of like someone who breaks into your car in the middle of the night and just steals the change you use to feed the meter. It's petty theft, but the sneakiness behind it just irks you.

I'm not going to do a good job of explaining it, but hopefully it makes some sense. It's just the end of another worthless day, and I'm feeling pissy. I don't know what else I can do to get on top of hits. Is it a matter of having the fastest computer? Fastest internet? Most scripts?

I had a really good day today, and I am a non-master with hardly any quals at all. In fact, I've done no qual work at all today. I did a 20 cent batch that was posted here on the forum and this batch lasted hours. At least 2 or 3 hours. It's not about being fast, or anything like that. Some days are just better, others aren't. And 2 people with the exact same qualifications could have a totally different day too. I know some days that people say are amazing and I only end up making $5. Chin up man. I won't try and make you feel bad for not earning a lot, we all turk differently and I know I've had my share of awful days. It'll be alright.

    Finally back from Pittsburgh.

Hope I didn't miss out on much. I did get a ton of stuff to sell on Amazon, but I did miss out on all those sweet sweet hits that you all caught.

I'm a lurker for the most part, and I would count myself in with the clueless crowd. I have a bunch of scripts, but I don't even think that most of them work, or maybe I just haven't figured out how to turn them on, ehh.

Occasionally I'll check out a HIT that I see mentioned here, but 40% of the time I'm not qualified for it, and 30% of the time I click way too late to catch anything. So, I seriously doubt that there is anything I can contribute. I keep tuning in though because like everyone else, I have down times, and I am learning from you guys. I appreciate it.

    Breligs are up!

50% of the lurkers are members just not logged in.

*98 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot

I bet there are lurkers who aren't as clueless as you'd think. They probably catch all the hits faster than the rest of us cause we're busy being social and sharing info. They probably make way more money than us cause all they have to do is leech and work.

It is nice to recognize people, or at least have names, I agree. But we're also a small segment of turkers in general with so many turkers at other forums/sites that I don't worry about them. Even if every person who ever visited MTF registered and actively posted we'd still be a small portion of turkers.

I think a decent connection and a decent computer is necessary to some extent, but I don't know what kind of set up you have. If you find yourself waiting for things to load when others don't (limited by either hardware or connection and not the requester's server(s)) you might be at some sort of disadvantage. A lot of people consider multiple monitors, a programmable mouse with numerous buttons, etc. necessary. Depends.

If they're aren't clueless and know what they're doing then they likely aren't relying on the forum to find many or any HITs, so it wouldn't be "leeching" as much as just focusing more on monitoring and working which doesn't impact the forum.

Today was awesome. Glad to see the return of Alegion. What ever happened to Faith. She used to be all happy when they posted and set her alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to do them. She was fanatical about Alegion and used to make some good dough as well.

Today was my best day in a long time. Although I'm up way too late.

Faith is good, think she's taking a break from the forum and focusing on other things.

I wouldnt consider myself a lurker but im usually not on here until late. And i dont post much. Some of us newbies are too busy trying to learn something from you all. So pls dont knock us all sometimesits better not to say much. Plus most of the hits that newbies work on most of you all dont fuck with. Im sure you wouldnt want the board plastered with p9r and jon breling hits all day. And besides you are not the only one having a bad day most newbies have a bad day on mturk all week lol.
