October of this year? Oh honey, I don't think I've ever managed to make a steady payment on this monster of a beast since I borrowed the damn money years ago. Let's just say it's not fun carrying a loan with an 18% interest rate (finally dropped to 13%, but by then the damage was already done). My original payments would make a rich CEO cringe to write those checks. At the time, they gave me no other options besides deferment and interest-only (lol even then), but now that that's all gone, they were forced to change it. Even the rep I spoke to recently was like oh god yeah okay we have to fix this. LOL. Anyhoo, if you have no other choice, look into selling some things around the house. It sucks, I know, but it'll get you over that first hurdle.
This won't solve the problem, but a while back I quit my job and relied on turk. My internet went down for a few days due to technical reasons, so I went to McDonald's in the morning and then went to the library after a few hours.
I bet it did Seriously, don't lose sleep over it. Find out your "worst case scenario"- there's a forumla for what they could actually take. There are laws to make sure no lender can take all of your money. You need to be able to buy food, etc. So you can find out what amount they could even garnish if it went that far. But first they'd have to get a judgment, and you could go to court and set up a payment plan then. And if you didn't show for that hearing then they could get a different order to garnish your paychecks. So...there's a lot of time in there before it will happen. It definitely could happen, so you need to deal with it, but don't let those jerks ruin your Christmas and stress you out. It absolutely cannot and will not happen without those things happening first.
If it helps, I got a letter basically saying they're going to the litigation review stage and their attorneys will be handed the case by the end of the month, I still had time to call and work something out blah blah. So I called and we were able to concoct this sane payment plan. So it takes time. If you haven't gotten a letter that says hey our attorneys are getting ready to review this stuff, you should be okay. Depends on the company I'm sure, but it's not an instant process either way. Also, if you're only late since October, that just doesn't even sound right. I'm I don't even know how many months past due on that thing because I literally wouldn't have been able to pay it on any normal salary. Took them a looooooooong time before A) they realized no one could ever afford it and B) they decided to let their attorneys handle it.
I agree with Ivy, it sounds like the loan company is just getting ready to send it to a collection agency. While not a great outcome it isn't the end of the world and it's likely to be weeks, if not months, before it goes to court and then (possibly) a garnishment judgment. I know that you said you live in a rural area, but you'd be surprised at how many places probably have WiFi nearby: McDonald's, Burger King, Starbucks, many restaurants, libraries, government buildings. Heck, I live in a small city (about 10,000 people) and one of our city parks has public WiFi.

$600 is a stretch by the end of this month, though. With the holidays and whatnot. Turking just isn't that reliable. I'd just sell shit. Or um..ummm...sell WCH.
Yeah, it's one of those "we'll loan to anybody, especially if you have bad credit" type of places. Right now I'm thinking of selling a bunch of my stuff, turking as much as possible. I hate having to ask family to help bail me out.
Lol fuck them. Chances are they will ding your credit even if you bring your payments current. They won't sue you, or get any kind of judgement for a long time. They may never do it for several years. Save up half of what you owe in the next few months, then contact them and settle the debt for half. Ask for a written document stating they will settle the loan for that amount and remove any dings from your credit report they may have added. If you wait 6 months they will likely settle for pennies on the dollar. I'm not advocating to let debt go or not pay debt, but if you've already missed payments and they are harassing you, and its only one account... Chances are the damage is done and you can actually save money by waiting to repay. They are not going to take you to court anytime soon for $600
The total amount I owe is around [redacted], the past due amount is [redacted]. Anyone happen to have any sort of experience with [redacted]? I had no idea they'd go balls-to-the-wall over a couple of missed payments like this.
Anyone see these Nikita HIT's? Can we do them all? They also looks exactly the same as the ones posted yesterday, but they have different numbers at the end. I tried to contact requester but got no answer. Anyone know?
Ahh I see. Well if they haven't dinged your credit there is still hope if you can work out a payment plan. If they already dinged your credit, I would start trying to save 4-5k and then try to settle a few months down the road. Not a financial expert, just my personal opinion. Good luck Bottom line, you can only pay what you can pay if they don't like it just hang up and try to work it out another day.
Hey, it's Xmas, no better time to ask And if that [redacted] is the only debt you have, you're still way ahead of most of us, just go balls to the wall and get rid of it. Find the cheapest internet plan you can get, hop on here every night and grind away.
