If you're ever stuck on <100 even though you did everything, open the stock picker page a second time and do however many you need to get the number to 100. It's some kind of bug that most of us have encountered before.
I am at fault there, I couldn't help it. I usually don't engage him at all but sometimes his insanity is too much for me, especially when he decides he knows how I work. However, I don't think anything will affect how often he comes back other than the aforementioned insanity.

I guess I just don't know what I need. I could easily not turk or do any work, and nobody is going to say anything. I'll just never have any extra money, and will continue to do nothing with my life, which I'm sick of doing because I'm the one in the family who was always supposed to. Any motivation has to come from me, and I've struggled with that over the years. I've been successful (compared to my typical output, at least) the last two weeks because of a plan that I put in place. I have a money goal that I feel would get me on my feet, and I'm acting as if reaching my goal would require the level of dedication that I only know from when I was cramming last minute on college exams. I'm doing the all day, even weekends plan, and I've abandoned hobbies, abandoned everything, and it's worked reasonably well thus far. If I keep this pace up for a year (unless I become a significantly more efficient turker, and do it sooner) I can make the amount of money that I want. I'm prepared to do that, even though my hourly wage will be atrocious. I still prefer mTurk over any of the "real" jobs that I've had. But I do often find myself conflicted when I read about what other people are doing in the forum. I keep telling myself that I'm going to ignore the posts about how someone made more money in a half hour than I've made in 12, but sometimes I can't. So any amount of money is an upgrade. I can picture the therapists that I've been to telling me to "take it one day at a time," and "lay a foundation," but I can't seem to stay motivated unless I'm hard on myself. I feel like I have to do the all day/everyday turking plan. That's the only way I've been able to manage $20-30 a day, and I've been happy with that. But because I'm currently committed to doing this all day, I occasionally get carried away into thinking that I have to make more, as you said.
To go along with my post, I think if you're frustrated with your earnings and haven't been able to figure out improvements, you need to either ask more questions (and spur more subsequent discussion, like this morning) even if they might be embarrassing, or consider whether or not you're able to turn mturk into what you want it to be. Like someone here posted a month or five ago a video of how they were doing a HIT and were right clicking something to copy and paste...those seconds are precious. People might give you shit but that doesn't matter if it makes you even a few bucks, let alone bucks a day or much more in the long run. And that one keyboard shortcut could turn into realizing there are more shortcuts into realizing that (beyond me) AHK and scripts and programmable mouse buttons and such might help you do stuff even more efficiently. The saying that there are no stupid questions is wrong, depending on the scenario, but there's never a stupid question not worth asking if it gives you an answer. That's just the bare basics that people here might not even consider. That something like a keyboard shortcut could help a lot, without getting into anything more advanced like a script or programming buttons. I assume others are willing to help with more advanced stuff. Asking never hurts. If it goes unanswered, consider how many recent posts before or after, the work currently up, the day/time, etc. before assuming the question wasn't answered for a reason. Or PMing someone politely if you see them talking about stuff. Consider it networking, don't feel dumb, you've got nothing to lose here. I'm a terrible turker to some and manage better than others. Just my penny from observing how things go here since joining, and doing less work for the same earnings to meet my goals. If nothing else, insert random music video to remember what you've got.
