Damn straight, if I have payed taxes on $500,000+ in my lifetime, I think I have a right to have my own political opinion. As do you. That's America.
Luna, so nice of you to drop in and write a post about what's going on right now. What a coincidence.
You stated as fact that it was liberal policies. I showed that wasn't necessarily the correct explanation and provided the explanation given by a significant number of economist for a significant amount of the decline. I understand though your side likes to score political points by lying and distorting facts and ignoring all the experts, but if you are going to be a partisan shill I suggest at least trying to get paid for it. If you are just dumb I suggest trying to fix that.
What's your plan to increase the labor force participation rate, in depth details would be nice. You threw out a dig at conservativism, so I threw a dig at liberalism. Since a Socialist Liberal President has been in office during the drop in the 38 year low Labor Force Participation. I think it is only fair. If it is not Liberal policies, why didn't our President do something to stop it.
I think people have believe the president has far more power than he (or possibly she in the future) really has.
That's not what I said. I just meant that your blaming a nationwide problem solely on the party of the president is ignoring any nuance that an issue as complex as labor force participation has. Edit: Sorry for the awkward wording, but there's not much other way to say that.
People are retiring because they are reaching retirement age? How do I pose stopping that, I don't. I unlike conservatives understand the march of time. I guess if I give it enough time the baby boomers will die off and the labor force participation rate will go up. Maybe if we get rid of medicare like some Republicans want to it can accelerate that die off. I get the GOP solution now. Also Socialist liberal. Really do you just use a GOP random bad word generator? Also the drop started during Bush Jr. term, again 2007ish to 2008ish was the start of the decline. I'm not a fan of Bush Jr. but I hardly think he is a socialist or a liberal. Also I will say your side claimed he was trying to increase the labor force participation rate, but you valiantly fought to stop the death panels. If only we had those we might have significantly higher participation rates.
Exactly, the same goes for blaming conservatism which is usually associated with republicans. Twirdman: "Conservatism is just rotten to the core" Sorry bud, I think Socialism is rotten to the core
I'm just happy to see people talking about politics and having different views without being nasty towards each other. People on Facebook need to learn how to be tolerant of other opinions. For the next year and a half it's going to be a wall of stupid.
True True. I guess the ignorant political views will be better than the conservative flag debate that is still going strong.
Considering the general stupidity of most people, I can't think of anything worse than giving all of them their own little space on the internet to endlessly post about themselves, their opinions, etc. I hate Facebook.
What do you make of this article twirdman, is it all BS that the retirees have not had much effect on the labor force participation rate? http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspi...nt-retirees-are-not-the-labor-exodus-problem/
I'm going to bed, send me a pm if you want to respond twirdman. I have a feeling I already know exactly what you are going to say, but my ears are open just in case. Peace, rock on America
