I remember coming across this freelancer's blog a few months ago. I seem to remember her charging like $100 for Amazon descriptions. Something like that. It's not the sort of thing you want to do through a writing service/content mill for sure. Private is definitely the way to go there since many clients prefer to order in bulk (think eBay or Amazon sellers or retailers with a whole catalog of products) and have one writer handle all of it for uniformity purposes. But no joke, good sales/copy writers with solid negotiation skills can make bank.

Which? In general? When I write my own, it usually takes me like 5 mins per or less. I'd imagine it's a bit longer if you're dealing with a finicky client, but it really depends on the copy length, format, research (if necessary), if it's SEO'd to death or not, etc.
