Completely unrelated but my daughters went to camp last week and there was a lice epidemic going around the camp. We're clean (for now) but I keep feeling like I have cooties crawling all over me.
I can assure that most people using mturk are not using it to make friends. They are using it to fill the gap in their income or in many cases a source of their only income. I'm not sure you understand how the world works based on your post. I wasn't aware there were other forums. This is the first one that came up when I searched for one many years ago. I'm sure those other ones don't nearly have the amount of members like this one has. He can do whatever he wants, he asked for an opinion and I gave him one. It differs from yours, but it doesn't mean it is wrong.
Really? Because I've made some friends Turking, and they've shown me how to make more money. Shocking, but altruism and people helping each other /does/ make a difference.

Good morning. Is anyone doing the artificial sweetener batch? Seems like a lot of unrelated posts (i.e nothing to do with artificial sweetener). How is everyone handling those? I have just been throwing them back but would do them if I new how. Advice?
Interesting that your post indicates that you've been viewing this site for a 'couple of years'. Why have you been viewing it for a couple of years? I'm sure it had nothing to do with clicking the links that people share. So if I'm understanding correctly, that means that you've been taking advantage of these shared links for years, but now you say that it's a bad idea. You think the sharing is a bad idea and yet you're sitting there waiting to jump on the posted links, while not contributing in any way yourself? Sounds like you need to make up your mind. You can't have it both ways.
I've been doing those, and simply marking them as closely as I can, and using 'other' and the text boxes to say 'This is not about sweetners'. Whatever they were doing captures any mention of 'sugar' and 'sweet', so I imagine we're being paid in part to filter out the junk.

I usually don't log in and post this early, but I feel this is something to respond to. I am going to say this in the nicest way possible, just stop posting this idiotic crap while you're not ahead. You seem to be the one who doesn't understand how the world works. With forums like this that encourage good work more and more requesters will join. If more people join as you claim then more studies will be conducted on here as well. Why? Because the reputation of Mturk will go up and it will be easier for researchers to get the demographics they need which will also take less time and cost them far less money. Additionally they don't need as many people because they don't have to individually hand out surveys or call people. When you look at only one side of the coin it's easy to make it sound all bad. The truth is people on here like to help each other and share great things and if you don't want to do that then we don't need or want you here. Have a nice day.
Some people are able to make friends AND money. I'm sorry if you have trouble with both - maybe if you weren't selfish, it would be easier.
I know, I was making a point that more requesters will join and as a result there would be more batches and surveys overtime. If there is an easier to access workforce then people will use it.
