I personally probably wouldn't script something like this especially given you can just open the article with nifty split but to each their own doesn't really hurt anything scripting it. Might script entering choices but don't know if I'd even do that.

I myself have never seen a hit complicated enough to warrant all that. And if one does, it had better be paying through the effin roof.
If you're first starting out, it makes sense to make a simple script and add improvements as you get annoyed with the bottlenecks. There's a saying called keep it simple stupid that people ignore to their detriment. In poker it's called the fancy-play syndrome
I always wonder if the time it takes to write a script actually makes up for the time spent not doing the hits. Obviously with very common batches (rnr comes to mind) it's worthwhile, but I wonder about the batches that only post once in a blue moon. I don't know. I'm just an outsider looking in.

I can't see using scripts for Tal Brown worth it...it's pretty fast already...I can't see myself getting faster with scripts and tabbed windows and all this complication. I never use scripts so I don't know I would like to start but it seems like it's only worth it on HITs that are way more inefficient manually than with script help. I'm happy with the batch and I rarely do batches it's a nice Sunday surprise.
Considering most batches now "fly off the shelves" within about 5 minutes or less (unless they're massive, like Groceries or something), I just don't see the point.
I usually get something scripted in a minute or two, and a lot of times you can just make a minor change to an existing script. Anything after that and it can be a waste if the batch is moving fast. I'll script anything it it's worth the time... my ahk folder had over 100 scripts in it before I cleaned it out a few weeks ago

Even writing scripts can be fine though. You always just have to do a cost benefit analyze. You consider the 3 factors how long does it take to write the script, how long will the batch last this one will almost have to be just a rough estimate, and how much time do you save per hit. I mean even in the extreme example of a hit that disappears in 5 minutes if the amount of time saved is long enough and the amount of time to write short enough it can be still worth it. Heck say hit takes 10 seconds and you can shave off 3 seconds with a really simple script that takes you minute to write. Yeah you only have 4 minutes at the batch now but you are doing the hits in 7 seconds instead of 10 so instead of getting 30 hits you can now get 34. Even only saving 2 seconds you break even. Obviously the longer the batch will last will lend themselves to writing more complex scripts.
It's worth the time if you spend a few seconds recording and looping a macro. I used to copy/paste ahk scripts for new hits but I realized (when I still used ahk for turking) that the scripts I was creating out of repetition were all the damn same, so I started making catch-all scripts that worked for all requesters for certain hit types (before finally phasing out ahk for turk completely for its inefficiencies)
Yeah I used to be really nit picky like you and mull over all the minute details like seconds/minutes saved. I 've since kissed and don't even bother to write things when I'm turking anymore, because it's not an efficient use of time unless you're not turking because there are just better solutions out there
